I messed around with Assault + C4 a little bit but it doesn't seem to be very useful unless there is a lot of armour rolling around. It's only useful for defending a particular area. For example, there's an enemy below you and you want to take him out without exposing yourself.
Only tactic I know with it is to pile it on the point and run away then blow it up

There's not really lots of tactics to be used with C4.
Either you stick it onto a tank, giving the Assault class some AT possibilities, or you stick it on house foundations and try to take it down (with the objective inside obviously, the other ones are better left standing)
If you use a perk that increases the amount of carried explosives, that shouldnt be too much of a problem i guess.

If you're so dedicated to use it elsewhere, and FF is off, you can use it as a . . . reactive armor. Check the vid below (around 5. minute):

Lol yesterday I had my best game so far, it was Port Valdez and we were defending @last checkpoint. The attackers destroyed all the other m-com checkpoints in like 10min, but couldn't take the last one(battle for it was like 30min). At the end of the round I had 13780 points LOL and the medal bar was filled like twice.
It's nice when you have runs like that. It's a shame though that you have a lot of BS moments in this game aswell. More than in other games it seems.
Still additive though... -_-
Somehow I really dislike the AN-94. First of all, why is it burstfire-only? :S Then there are the sucky ironsights which make it kinda hard to aim. And there's no way I'm putting a red dot/scope on it because that just looks plain stupid, as if it was glued up on top. Seriously they could've at least added appropriate russian scopes etc. Also damage seems kinda lame eventhough it says that its more powerful than any of the other assault rifles i unlocked so far. Maybe thats because of the burst-fire.
My favorite AR atm is the Steyr AUG. Wonder why they call is STG77 though. First of all that's the austrian army term(Sturmgewehr 77) and I don't see any in BFBC2 so they would have to call it Steyr AUG, especcially because its the A3 version which our retro-army doesn't have.
Btw did anyone actually use sniper+red dot? Wonder if that's any good use
Also is it just me or are half of the shotguns completely useless? I totally pwn with all the auto-shotguns like the SAIGA, but the remington 870 is just like completely useless it seems to me.

My main class is assault and I go with the AN-94 as my primary with the same setup as Nimsky (AN-94, extra nades, magnum ammo). The iron sights arent that bad, the burst mode makes it easier to steady your aim, and the magnum ammo makes it damage effective. I may be wrong but I also feel like since its skinny it takes up less screen real estate which is useful since all the guns in the game take up half your damn screen.
I agree about the shotguns. The 12 guage ammo is stupid since its about just as accurate as an assualt rifle but still takes at least two shots to take down someone. You might as well just use an AR. The auto shotties are much better but still not that great since alot of the combat takes place at mid to long range.

That guy must have the most monotonous voice ever. Quite funny though.
So I unlocked the M416. And somehow I can't hit anything with it. The sights are nice and it's actually easy to aim. But for some reason I hardly hit anything, and by the time I do the magazine is already out because ROF is so high or ammo count so low. :/ On the other hand I already got the aug gold star today, with the gun being inferior to the m416 in terms of stats
I can't hit **** with the HK416 either. I just kept using the AN94 until I got the M16, myself.
It's all about playstyle. For me the AUG doesn't work at all, I hate the bloody thing. I seem to have the most succes with the AN-94, so I go with that one. AN-94 + Magnum ammo + extra grenades is a golden combination for me, I even prefer its iron sights over the red dot because of the sharper sight picture. The burst-fire is not a problem for me because if you click fast enough it's pretty much full-auto anyway.
Once you've unlocked all of the guns, however, it never hurts to go back to some of the other guns. Even the ones you didn't really like the first time you tried it. I've re-tried the M16 the other day and it's not bad with the stabilisation perk. However, it's not the best weapon for close quarters due to its low damage.

I've given myself the assignment of getting at least the bronze star for every weapon in the game, no matter how much i despise the weapon.
So far i've gotten bronze stars for all the assault and engineer weapons, hard on my way to getting the bronze stars for medic, but probably still a long way away from Recon because i absolutely cannot stand the Vintorez.
The damn thing doesnt seem to accomplish anything, yet i constantly get raped with it.
After that though, it's on to random weapons for no class like G3, shotguns, M1 garand etc.
Pistols i do along the way with all the other classes.
And at the end of the road, there's a shiney badge waiting
Somehow i doubt many people will get it because most are to obsessed with 40mm-raping everything.

Yeah I still use the AEK-971 because I'm just really good with it(as opposed to An94/M416) but also because I wanna get it to Platinum star.
Btw, after a map change does the game actually make up new teams? Because for some reason it happened to me regularly lately that when one team was totally superior and always won within like 10-15min it kept going on like this for the next maps etc. so it always was unbalanced and hardly any fun to play. I usually then search for a new server because where's the point.
