Personal blog + creepy site construction = who gives a ****? I'm fairly butt hurt about quite a few things in BF3, but even I have to laugh at that.

And as an aside, I hate the concept of "What If" gaming coming from gamers. It's the reason they're always disappointed and whining, because they refuse to accept games for what they are and cling pathetically to what they wish games were. Everyone has the right to dream, but these days, it's been taken to extremes. The only people I'm interested in asking the "What If" questions are developers. Because it's useless in the hands of gamers.

Well if you wanna know something that's really sad: BF3 wasn't nominated for "Best Graphics" @Spike VGAs. Instead, nonimees are 1) Uncharted 3(well, ok); Batman: Arkham City(ok too); L.A. Noire(well, because of their facial motion capturing obviously) and RAGE -> LOL, WTF?

That is SERIOUSLY a WTF. Even if you are one of those people that may not particularly love everything about BF3's graphical style, you can't deny it's amazing high-fidelity and technical prowess.

It's probably because they never played BF3 on the PC where the graphics truly shine. I've watched a friend play BF3 on 360 and the graphics are truly underwhelming to say the least ...

Played this game on all Ultra settings with an HD 6950 2GB. The graphics hardly look better than they do at medium. :confused:

My GTX 560ti will be here tomorrow, so I'll try it out some more on my own PC.

I'd claim the same if it got my obscure personal blog several thousand extra page hits.

That AA injector doesn't really improve the colours IMO, and the AA mode seems to produce visible white outlines. I'd really like to see a more vibrant colour scheme, but the existing contrast between a rather "cold" environment and "colourful" effects is very appealing to me already.

Does anyone else have the mouse lag/stutters when trying to aim a firearm? Some friends and I get it (both Nvidia and AMD cards). It is very annoying and it does make aiming harder. I've disabled (or enabled, whichever is not default) the mouse acceleration or whatever it was called. I even tried disabling Origin in game as this was listed as a solution, but that did not help.

Lol really? Mine is arriving today as well... 560ti.

Did you get the Zotac one from Newegg? The one that was discounted during the Monday deals and comes with Arkham City?

No, EVGA 560ti 2GB from Amazon (free shipping, no tax). It is inside of my PC. Running cool at 26 degrees C idle. My GTX260 216 was running at 46-47, though I had not cleaned it out in 2-3 months.

So far I tested it in BFBC2 for about 2 minutes, no issues. I'll give BF3 a try soon.

Since we are talking about video cards, I might as well share. My "little" GTX 260 with the 560ti.

Actual length used in the case is the same due to the fact that the power cords/wires are not upturned, which is one things I don't like.

Edit: All settings maxed out (MSAA 4x, 8x AF) at 1680x1050. I got 48-55 or so frame rates on Kharg Island conquest large, about 26 or so people in the server. Honestly, I am not seeing much of a difference between Ultra and Medium settings.

BF3 used up 1,400MB of video RAM. Glad I sprung for the 2GB model.

Other system specs:
AMD 965
8GB DDR2
Latest official Nvidia drivers
Win 7 64bit

hmm you'r evga 260 still work there flogger? A co worker was considering getting a second 260 to SLI. I can ask if he is still interested if you dont happen to have another use for it..

As of this moment I have no use for it. If he is in the USA I am interested in selling it, though it has to be soon otherwise I will be in/out of town over the next month or so. It works fine, I was playing BF3 on it less than 24 hours ago and I used it this morning.

Its a GTX 260 216 Superclocked (even if not indicated on the sticker, it is indeed a 216).

Added a network interpolation setting. This allows users with good bandwidth reduce latency, but might increase some stuttering. The user can find what works best for his connection by tweaking the slider.

Fixed air radar was showing to much. now lasertagged, heatsignature above threshold, enemy missiles and capture points are only visible on air radar
Fixed a problem where the game would enter a technical hang if the user pressed pause menu and tilde at the same time
Fixed a problem where you could get green flashes on screen
You can now reassign cycle weapons
Fixed so the weapon zooms automatically after bipod deploy is gone when using zoom toggle
Fixed a problem where the parachute would stay stuck in air if the owner was killed


Balance Tweaks
Fixed several weapons so they are properly suppressed and hide the player on the minimap when fired.
Tweaked Tactical Light so it is not as blinding over longer ranges.
Tweaked the IRNV scope so it is limited to usage only at close range.
Reduced heat masking effectiveness of Spec Ops Camo.
Fixed a bug where Ammo spec would give additional 40mm grenades instead of Frag spec.
Increased the number of additional 40mm grenades from Frag spec.
Fixed so AT mines only live for 20 seconds after a player dies to prevent infinite mines. (We want to make a different fix in the future, it

Too bad they chance the AT mine mechanics really.
You have to be smart about their placement but it's still fairly dependant on luck to get a kill.
If they get destroyed 20 seconds after your death it will be very hard to get kills with them I guess. Makes people want to camp more too I think.

I look forward to testing BF3 when I eventually buy it! For now I'm going back and beating all the games I couldn't because of performance issues, like Metro 2033.

Here's a pic of the card. Pretty spiffy... too bad my case doesn't have a window lol.

Tell me how it runs. So far mine works fine in games, but 2 out of the 3 attempts I tried to boot my PC my monitor would not display anything. Cutting the power, waiting, turning it back on and trying again fixes the issue but I think there might be something wrong. Card/cables are firmly placed in.

When it does work, it runs BF3 and ArmA 2 with no issues (still 18 frame rates in a forest!).

As for temps, BF3 seems to push them up to 66-69, where as ArmA 2 pushes it up to 76.

Maybe your PSU can't handle it? Though if that was the case it wouldn't work properly in games too.
