BF3 doesnt feel like a predecessor of BF2, its more of a Bad Company 3.
They're load-testing the servers(finding how many server instances they can host on certain hardware), patience.

At least Caspian Border feels like a Battlefield map ... not that metro crap that feels like a CoD map gone bad.I played some Caspian Border. Overall I don't really like this map.
The repair torch, like everything else, blinds the player.
Jets look comical. Tanks seem to behave similar, which isn't so bad. Though it would be nice if the coax MG would be enabled by default.
For whatever reason the map feels small to me. Certainly smaller than the Gulf of Oman (from BF2). But after playing it more I find it to be ok.
I actually welcome more infantry only maps, because I think the infantry aspect is rather decent. Too bad there are no mod tools for the same, I am sure an RO/INS style mod would not be too hard to make.

Once I turned all my settings down to low and got decent FPS, I actually played the game for about 3 hours straight today, losing track of time. It's rather fun when it works.
That said, I won't even think of buying it until EA proves to me they can fix all the problems, and add in a proper squad system and commo rose, to name just a few things.
