In a dark cave/tunnel, yes it is. In normal sunlight, nope.
But yea it seems a little over the top in that video.

While it can be realistic for military grade flashlights i dont think it fits in the game or is well implemented.
In a game with the gun stickied to the center of the screen it is very easy to keep running and aiming at the enemy, and the closer he is it should be harder to blind you as the light cone is reduced but it doesnt seem to be happening. I lost count on how many times the opponent hugged me and the whiteness washed my monitor.

Is Caspian Border still being hosted? I am thinking of trying the Beta, but the Metro map looks rather lame and not worth my time if that is the only map.
They took the map out yesterday. Apparently "testing has now been completed" (direct quote) on that map.
Metro is utter crap so I haven't really played the game since.
Oh well, I already started the beta download.
Origin seems to use far for RAM than Steam does. Downloading at 1.7MB/S also slows down my internet a lot while Steam doesn't. It also seems rather unresponsive.
I'll uninstall it and delete it from the registry when the beta is over. But I'll probably end up installing it again because I am interested in BF3.
Edit: Just tried it. It runs nice at medium settings for me, but looks and runs worse than BFBC2. At high it looks nice but I get poor frame rates. I was expecting this however.
Otherwise the game seems awkward to me.

It's because of the map, at least to some extent. I feel like I'm repeating myself, but Metro really doesn't do the game justice.
Metro is indeed awful, but I was preferring to the server browser and menus. Probably one of the worst layouts I've ever seen in a game.
I will have to turn more settings back to get playable frame rates. Though I do like the feel of the movement and weapons. Everything feels more authentic, but it still isn't a realistic game (no surprise here).
Edit: Played it some more. The gameplay is similar to RO2, but it feels more polished. I actually like the game.

- Fast pace(run'n gun gameplay)
I am so utterly confused, you know that video where that guy with the MKB gun downed some guys who was and people say its "The Death Of RO2" but I am able to do that every match with the carbine as I get behind guys and taking them down with zero recoil but people say the guns work better in BF3? Whaaaaa?
Oh and I have K/D of 1.461 and most of that with the M27 IAR but the M4 is soon creeping up...
