Meh I'm probably not going to get Battlefield 3, I just, well, don't find it (or most FPS's nowadays) extremely interesting. I'm not going to say "hurr casual" or something along those lines to insult people that are excited about this game.
It's good that people are excited for a more realistic game and are slowly moving away from games like the latest Call of Duty's. But I think having my main platform be PC has spoiled me. There's loads of different genres that I can play on my PC and I can play games that are much closer to what I want to play. For example, most of the games I've played as of late have been Europa Universalis III, Hearts of Iron III, and Victoria II, because I'm a sucker for grand strategy games like the ones Paradox makes.
Now, there are various other grand strategy games that I could be playing, from less complex ones like Risk or the Total War series, or more complex ones (I can't think of their names at the moment, but I do know they exist). But the Paradox strategy games strikes the right chord for me.
It's the same goes for FPS's, there's loads of different FPS games that I could play, but the ones that I never really get tired of are Red Orchestra, and Resistance and Liberation. I could play faster paced, but less realistic games like CoD or Battlefield, or I could play slower paced and more realistic games like ARMA II (Which I do play from time to time), but RnL and RO strike the right chord.
