Not to join the pissing contest, but I think he was simply making a joke, as opposed to outright complaining... at least, I found it amusing.

Going to take the high road on this one....

It's just something I don't really want. BFBC2 had the right amount of overhead, and given this, it is just a little bit more than social networking I have a problem with. I decided not to go there though. But you still flipped out on it anyways.

Is that an opinion I can have without getting *****ed at, mein moderator?

Nope. But I have plenty of them. I just had to make a Uplay Account for Assassin's Creed 2. I have the Ubisoft Download Manager, Impulse and the GOG downloader.

So yeah. I have plenty of these apps already, all trying to do the same job. But let me get excited about yet another overhead system, and another docked application, I have to sign up for to play one game that will include a bunch of redundant features.

Oh, I get it now. You hate that you might have to use Origin?

BF3 is already up for preorder on D2D and (God willing) will also be on Steam.

That's what all this is about?

Assassin's Creed 2 is also on steam, and it still requires a Uplay account for some stuff AFAIK.

Just read every post up to page 6.. I am honestly disapointed in a lot of the RO fans for putting down BF2.

BF2 was a revolutionary game and might have even inspired some of the features of RO2.

On the topic of mod support, if they don't have it I will scream, and kill my cat. Poor Socks. But seriously, BF2 was released in what? 2005? The mod Project Reality has over 1000 people playing it every day, including me. If they don't have mod support, I am with those of you that say that this game will fail.

Although if this game is released and has mod tools, I will most likely send a smart *** PM to each and everyone of you negative people.

Apparently they will show multiplayer stuff at E3 and hopefully we'll get an open beta date as well. Just one more day till awesomeness.

There will be no mod tools in BF3 since the engine is too "complicated" for Dice and they prefer to sell DLC's. The executive producer of BF3 thinks modding is a declining trend anyways in the gaming industry, but I don't blame him, because most games nowadays don't include modding tools. :D

I blame him. The best thing with the previous BF games are the mods.

The problem with Origin is that it has been confirmed to feature exclusive BF3 content. It's not clear what that is, but it's possibly yet another obstacle in the way of customers obtaining the full experience. If BF3 does show up on Steam there's still the possibility that the "Back to Karkand" DLC won't be included or that in the future there are map packs (free or not) that are only available to Origin users. I understand this is a competition and EA has to have something to work with but at the same time there's going to be a ton of customers, like myself and Nenjin, who are going to scoff at having to use a games manager from every publisher. It's a ridiculous proposition.

Well it was obvious something was up because BF3 didn't go for preorder on Steam, unlike EA store. BC2 was available for preorder much earlier.

If they make the preorder only available for Origin, or do not include Karkand in Steam; then I will have to buy it there. It's getting ridiculous though, will every publisher have their own download platform? I fear in the coming years we'll have a "D2D service war", and we'll have to install 3535 bloatware on our computers because of that . . .

You didn't look very hard as the exclusive BF3 stuff in Origin was up on their BF3 pre-order page from Day 1.

http://store.origin.com/store/ea/ht...?easid=Origin-Battlefield3_Web_Right_PreOrder

870 Combat Shotgun for use in BF3 & a free Beret for use in Battlefield Play4Free, plus the Back to Karkand pre-order bonus that every place is getting.
