These are the kind of trailers I love. No cinematic marketing bs, just "here's what we did and what we improved". They've taken many steps, but this is another in the right direction.

if i get half the fun i got with bc2 its worth my pre-order.
and so far its the fps i am looking most forward to. at least publicplay-wise, cause i dont think there going to be much clan support from DICE.

Looks pretty good in terms of the animations. I have a feeling this will outsell MW3 on the PC... or maybe not, but gain more dedicated players.

I am sure MW3 will be more popular on consoles though.

Sadly, it looks like BFBC2 servers will be empty soon. :(

Got me super-excited as well, eventhough like I said it's only new scenes from an developer interview cut together into this short trailer by a fan. Now if only there were EU Forces as a faction in the game :(

I have to admit though that I'm not just excited about how good the game is shaping up but how much better than this years' CoD it looks. Might finally break the CoD dominance or at least finally start the series' downfall(although it mainly did that by itself).

Does anyone remember the Battlefield 1942 TV Commercials? Do you also remember how the game looked nothing at all like that?

Do you remeber the BFBC2 pre release teasers? Do you also remember how BFBC2 doesen't quite look as good as all that?
Infact, lets watch one right now, and you tell me, is this what playing BFBC2 looks like on your screen?

Let's wait till we see the actual game before we drool to much, eh? This is all supposedly "Pre-Alpha" material, which means it's either pre-rendered, or rendered in-engine (which is not the same as in-game), and there's no saying the final product will live up to this.

But if you think it will, then i have a bridge for sale you might be interested in, it's a really good bridge mind, i just really need to sell it now to pay off some debt.
Special price just for you! But only because i really like you :)

I had this same discussion with a friend once about how the 1942 trailer looked nothing like the game, but truth be told the graphics seem the same in the BC2 trailer. But it's just the graphics, the rest (animations etc) are nowhere close to those ingame for the most part. And of course you have the "camera work" that overally enhances the experience.

So BFBC2 looks this cinematically animated for you then?

The graphical assets in that BC2 video is all from the retail game, and yes it looks as good as that. The only difference is custom animations in that trailer, hence it's "cinematically animated".

BF3 trailers are also from gameplay, especially the last documentary one is definitely in-game. It's probably from alpha or beta, but still looks damn good.

@Grobut: Yes, that's pretty much what bc2 looks like. And i do believe what we saw on that latest bf3 trailer is pretty close to what bf3 will end up looking like, just go and take a look at the 12 minute gameplay footage released a month or so ago. It's all there, the animations and the eye candy.

It almost seems like. . . U jelly ?

You do realize i have played the game, yes?

I can tell you, i never saw thouse fluid and perfect animations in the actual game, not once, and i most certainly never saw the situation appropriate facial animations, nor did i see people move around the way they do in this video, all life like, i saw them move around like people do in an FPS game, not quite so life like.

The assets seem legit enough (i didn't say anything about the assets if you care to look, go ahead, you can see i haven't edited my post), but the photage is scripted in-engine, it's all a cinematic cutscene, it's not how the game actually plays by a long shot, the anims in-game are not this good, not even clouse.
And that's to speak nothing of the obviously cinematic framing and camera work.

Ergo, when people say "wow look at thouse animations in this hardscripted BF-3 trailer, this game will be so awesome", i say "yeah... let's wait and see the game".
You can make anything look good in a cutscene.

And of course you have the "camera work" that overally enhances the experience.

This, pretty much. Any free floating cinematic camera will make regular in game assets look better than they will in game with a fixed camera. But I recognized most if not all the fx from the game. Walls breaking, splosions, smoke clouds....about the only thing that was totally concocted was the bombing run.

And notice how there wasn't a whole lot of that this time in the most recent BF3 videos.

Considering BF2's opening in game movie is the exact same thing shown in that BC2 trailer...I trust DICE enough that they're not paying a few million to have someone render up their movies for them.

I was talking about Graphics, not animations.
