can you perhaps upload the corresponding log file as well.

have you tried verifying the integrity of the game cache?

  1. start steam
  2. open your games library
  3. rightclick ro2beta
  4. properties
  5. local files
  6. verify integrity of game cache.

Also getting this error

Also getting this error

So, I increased my virtual memory to 4 gigs since I only have 2gigs of ram, and now I get this error: (Again, I have many gigs free on my hard drive.) Log attached.

Ran out of virtual memory. To prevent this condition, you must free up more space on your primary hard disk.

Seems like a video memory or system memory for my 32 bit XP system.

Grain Elevator and Red October Factory are fine, but my video card seems not to be able to cope with Barracks

yep

yep

Yes, definitely seems like a memory issue. I have a 32 bit system with 2gigs of ram and I am crashing on anything above love graphics settings. I then changed my audio channels from 32 to 8 and I could up my graphics settings to medium and still play barracks. (This was suggested in another thread.)

Barracks CTD after about 15 seconds with windows 64bit and 4 gigs of ram as well. I'm running a ATI Radion HD 6570 (1 gig). Haven't had a chance to run the other maps - hope to do soon.

I am crashing constantly now too, which I don't understand I was able to play every new map twice earlier when the patch first released. Now I just crashed instantly when I loaded up barracks, and twice before that shortly after getting into game.

I am having this problem as well. I was going to post my .dmp files, but they are too big to put as attachments.

Fix for me was simple. I turned shadows up from low (yes I was taking advantage of that bug) to high and now haven't crashed. I went from crashing 7 times in a row almost instantly, to never crashing.

Guys have you tried the old ini trick? Go to roengine.ini and modify
bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True
and
PumpWindowMessagesWhenRenderThreadStalled=True. I didnt need it before the patch but i can load barracks without crashing now and ive been spectating red october factory for a while without black screens, so try that.

This did not fix crash for me. I think it helps with load times.
Changing shadows settings to high or ultra did not work for me either.
(9800GT 1GB vram, latest drivers)

All I can think of is changing shadows to low and then to high again.
