Im having a spot of bother getting the ban list to stay put.

Every server restart our list goes walkies and this is becoming very annoying especially due to this free week!

We run our dedicated server through multiplay uk and have no direct ftp access, the only real access we have is through the ro web admin tool and another web tool called clanforge available from our server provider.

All is fine until we change the config through clanforge or even somthing simple like add a new map to the rotation, we restart the server and the list disapears!

Is there anyway we can add the guid's to a config file so they wont go anywhere or anything else can be done to stop this from happening?

Thanks in advance!

P.s. is anyone else having this trouble or is it just because of our server provider?

the other settings like servername etc stay?

looks like your redorchestra.ini is gone with the restart, perhaps overwritten by the default.ini

Yes all other settings remain, incuding server name....tk limit....and anything else that is in the .ini we have access to the .ini through clanforge and have never had a problem with the ban lists in any other game i.e cod2, bf2...etc just RO.

If we dont restart through clanforge everything is ok but we sometimes have to like after a new map is put in the rotation!

I may pass this over to our server provider if its just them affected and not other providers.

what if you manually add bans to the ini file do they stay then?

might be aproblem at the part of the server writing the ini.

Manual changes to the ini only stay if you make them while the server is not running.
Otherwise they are gone with a restart.
For Linux: make sure that the user runnign the server has permissions to read AND write the ini file. Best option is to let this user be the owner of the whole RO directory.
