Another self-entitled, elitist minority tries to exclude the majority. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves, Lefties.

We are just taking what is rightfully Leftfully! ours, you righties have excluded our population long enough! Be it right handed scissors, Guns, Mouses and even right handed pencils!

Given that from a certain distance it's otherwise impossible to distinguish friend from foe, I find this feature a godsend, and don't really care about the logistics of it.

****, I really want to see one of these left handed pencils. I actually have a callus on the middle finger of my right hand where I have rested a pencil all my life.

Yeah, I guess it all makes sense when you include real life, I think I was looking at it more from the game perspective, run, shoot, run shoot lol, silly me

I thought you had indeed been looking at it from a real life perspective, what with how you explained it in your initial post? All these things you describe there have no relevance in the game, because squeezing the trigger and grabbing and maintaining hold of the weapon are not modelled and not simulated.

I smell contradictorarian!

A bit of a tangental question here (sorry if its been asked before):

But why did the Soviets have their troops carry their weapons with two hands? Anyone have any insight?

The way they were trained... Or the way they weren't trained. As most people know, the Russian really despised the Germans and would do anything to kill them, so they would hold their guns that way, possibly for the same advantage that the OP suggested, to be able to shoot the Germans as quickly as possible. They might not have had any knowledge about the advantages of holding the gun in one hand, seeing as a lot of them were just rabble... That's what I think.

More for these reasons:
1. You can run faster
2. You can absorb the impact of a fall better (sparing the weapon), which is handy when having to suddenly get into a prone position
3. You can more easily negotiate obstacles

In real life yes, but in the game, none of that applies.... it's cosmetic for helping you identify the characters in the game

I'm left handed too. We should make a clan of only left handed gamers. ;)

Call yourselves "Sinister" - as it means left-handed.

Come to think of it, it would be interesting if the Germans were modeled to sprint a little faster, but have a slower sprint to shoulder / IS time.

^ that's a great link, thanks!

as an Ambidextrous American, I feel a great deal of sympathy towards my left-handed brothers in arms. Being denied the pleasure of naturally using a bolt action sounds awful.
It'd be nice if more games gave the option of having a lefty avatar.

Also, I wonder if the Rising Storm guys will make use of the one-handed animation for the Americans?

hehe. I hear lefties have a hard time with the SKS too. Apparently the ejected cartridge has a nasty tendency of hitting the left handed shooter in the face :p

Because RO2 doesn't correctly mirror battle situations. Men walk for miles before being engaged by the enemy. Holding the gun in the right hand allows you to evade fire better. Nobody is going to stop running and pop off a shot without cover. There are 2 actions in combat: running, and fighting. They do not mix.
