Per Zips' post, I'm happy to hear that the M4s behave as I was hoping. The Demo one is semi-auto only, and the Commando one is full-auto. (If I understood correctly). That provides a good balance, IMO. It leaves me wondering if the launcher-equipped one gets the perk bonuses from Commando (and perk leveling behavior). I think that I would often prefer the semi-auto one with the BOOM.

Got some questions for TWI:

MP5 - How do you activate its flashlight if secondary fire is gonna be for healing darts?

M4 w. M203 - If the Commando wields the M4 w. M203, will the bullets be stronger and/or the mag be any bigger, seeing as its the exact same weapon as his own M4?

To me it seems unnecessary to even add the standalone M4 (the one with the scope), as the M4 with M203 could just as well had been a split weapon for Commando and Demolitions: Commando benefits only from (and gets Commando level-experience from) the bullets, while Demolitions is the exact opposite, only benefitting from (and gets Demolitions level-experience from) the grenade launcher.

Searching for survivors.
The F key by default turns on the flash light, and alt fire is a separate key if I recall correctly. I know with my mouse my alt fire is a side button and my flashlight is F, so they can have functional flashlights without anything being messed up.

As far as i know, no they can't. How i think it works is that the F key is just a "quick flashlight" button, that makes you bring up the strongest weapon you are carrying that has a flashlight on it (aka either the Shotgun or the 9mm) and automatically activate secondary fire for that weapon.

So i very strongly believe it won't work, UNLESS they actually remade the function somehow for this update (which i very highly doubt they did). Or if I'm just wrong :p

Just for clarification:

The MP5 doesn't have any flashlight functionality, I believe that thing that looks like a flashlight is the healing dart launcher. Either that or someone modeled a flashlight and we missed it :)

The M4 is full or select (single fire). The M4 w/203 is fully auto always.

And regarding how realistic the damage/power of weapons are, we don't really aim to make that fully realistic in KF. Really its probably "semi-realistic" and our goal is just to make the weapon feel real and powerful. In KF we mostly just balance the weapons to what feels right vs the other weapons and the zeds. Now if you want realistic weapons we make another game called Red Orchestra 2 ... ;)

Awesome, thanks for clarifying.
Edit: Although I was secretly hoping the healing dart was face-activated (so the aiming with the sight would automatically fire a dart by depressing that bladder).

Realistic or not, KF has probably the best-feeling weapons in any game I've played

Aww that's a shame :/
Especially seeing as the picture has three barrels (middle for bullets, top for darts and bottom for flashlight)... but oh well, i love the MP5 so much anyway! :D

Thanks for the response :)

I saw the pictures of the new skins, then saw comments referencing the "new look" for DJ Scully.

Isn't the guy with the gold skull-mask Mike Noble?

Yes it is, though Scully sorta has a "skull" on him too. Though thing that got me most was the fact this variant of DJ Scully reminds me of "Ghost" from MW2. MW2 nod / reference?

Specifically this image got me most

Spoiler!

Wasn't the DJ Skully character released before MW2 actually hit the shelves?

Didn't know when DJ Scully came into existence before Ghost in MW2, my bad. Though the similarities between the two characters seems interesting to say the least, quite coincidental. My better question is what was the knowledge of scully beforehand of his release versus ghost in mw2? I didn't get into KF myself until middle of 2010 myself so I wouldn't know if DLC characters before my time was made publicly known for quite a while or only made known the day of their release as the past couple of DLC's were.

From what I remember they weren't really known beforehand like they are now. Probably because they didn't really have a theme and were just random outbreak survivors.
