Someone suggested this and I'd like to hear from Tripwire about whether it will somehow "break" the tanking or squad loadout before I try it in Ogledow.

If I remove the HullMG Role from tanks will players still be able to use tanks at the same time preventing AI from using the HullMG position?

How much of your time will it take to make a trial version with that HullMG role removed? We can test it on a locked (password protected server) with a few players just to see what will happen in reality. I really hate that HullMG if it's manned by a bot :D

if you would be able to make a such addon, to remove MG AI from game, it would be easily win "Mod of the year" award.

I use the tank a bit and the Hull MG seems so OP that having a real person in that spot would put me at a disadvantage. I am just glad that they gave us an AI loader. I remember if you switched to the driver in RO1 it would stop reloading the gun. On the other hand if your loader gets killed in RO2 no one wants to load.

I never allow other people in my tank with me. Also the AI appears to be able to see through smoke.

Couldn't you just remove their ammo?

Six_Ten is not talking about a mod or mutator, but about removing the HullMG role from the map roles.
I think the quickest answer will be to just remove that role. Cook the map and try it with a few players on a locked server and see what happens.

Another issue is that Even if you remove the hullmg, you will still have a bot in the commander position. So if you are single tanking, when you drive, the bot will take over and start doing his own thing. i.e. shooting at infantry, tanks, stuff like that.


They did such a great job with the texture and design of the tanks themselves only to completely and utterly flop on the implementation of the AI. It's fail incarnate.


A tank mod is definitely needed.

That was me, and yes it did work. well, at least when i tried it, it worked! However you can't stop human players from using it, they can just swap to the role.
