Just some tips

1. Never put the mark directly on the objective that would force friendly units to enter the impact zone unless situation is dire. Always put to the rear of objective or off of objective to impede reinforcements reaching cap.

2. Use mortars effectively. They are fast, small impact area and cancel quickly. use them for tactical situations when you need to clear out a small area quickly and fast, and have forces ready to enter as soon as you cancel or rounds are complete. Remember mortars are not very effective in buildings.

3. Howitzers are great for a huge barrage to impede avenues of approach, to suppress enemy positions, cause casualties in protected cover (buildings, trenches, etc...) to some degree.

4. Rockets are not fully understood. Use them when you must absolutely must clear out positions regardless of cover the enemy has. If the enemy is well dug in and the situtation is dire then rockets can clear a cap of all enemy almost down to the last man regardless of the cover they are in. Just have forces ready to spring into the cap when salvo is over or you just wasted the effect and the enemy will fill those positions quick.

5. Spotting issues: Use trees, buildings, tanks, soldiers, anything that will get a good return on a valid point. You dont always need to mark the ground.
