The only way it would look better is if it had an impact on what it it, which is probably too difficult to implement. Otherwise, there isn't much to be done with it. I think it is adequate as it is now.

it looks amazing, on 'high' settings at least.

i'm more concerned with grenade sounds... sometimes you throw a grenade and you can't hear it detonate.

RO1's one was perfect. RO2 is cool but the smoke is strange, but the way it explodes is quite cool, the speed of it. But right now it's still buggy, arty exploding mid-air..

It looks nice and the rocket attack is cool as hell.. only 1 salvo though makes me a sad panda ..

But the artillery sound itself, not when striking home, but when its fired I was hoping for something along the lines of that distinctive, far off THUMP THUMP THUMP, the artillery in DH makes then the screaming noises as it arcs in to target

Other than that its great ;)

Oh and is it me or is there any real difference between mortar or artillery aside from recharge time? As in most cases i go for mortars even on tanks as it seems to kill them as well easily enough

just from what i've noticed briefly playign as commander.

mortar are much smaller, more frequent blasts and cover a smaller area.


the mortars look cool as hell by the way, i can't resist getting my binoculars out and watching them every time.

Yes it is kind of disappointing that we wont have crater impacts after artillary shells land... This is a 2011 game after all... Cant we even have a dark texture to show where the mortar impacted?
