I bought Arma 2 last sale wish I had a crystal ball to tell about Arma 2 free but oh well. Anyway can any of you guys run the benchmark 2 really well? Seems like you need a super computer to get good FPS on that benchmark.

ArmA 2 benchmark always was really tough test, however you should be fine on multiplayer. I had some not so great scores on benchmark on my old (veeeery old PC), but on mission, even with tons of addons/mods everything was working great.

The retail has more functionality, and higher quality graphics. Don't sweat it.
Game is a bit of a pig for graphics - but you can manually tweak the configs to get a quite nice combination of FPS & IQ - my smallest PC gets ~145 FPS / ~27 FPS for bench 1 / 2 respectively. The game does not need ludicrous FPS to play very well and feel 'smooth'. Seems to like fast disk though - load time and 'hitching' are improved the faster your I/O.
Great game, very satisfying to play. Lemon on these forums is a great resource for info on the game - PM him.

Get ACE mod while you are a bit. Load times are four or so times longer but there are some nice features and content to be had in it.
