First off, the UI is definitely a no-go for me.

It's not that I can't familiarize myself with the set-up of the UI, but I find it unnecessarily difficult, time consuming and not realistic.

Secondly, the player avatar suffers from the same thing WWIIONLINE does: feeling as if I'm walking through syrup instead of air while wearing a neck brace and concrete boots.

Lastly, this time, before I purchase another game from BIS, they must deliver on MP. I'm through with boring CO-OP and want to have fun with Arma just like I do with RO/DH. I'm a social creature that needs to get my fix of killing real people through a video game.

Having said all of that, if I weren't a rational person I would have gotten a a tattoo of OFP/CWC on my lower back, probably preventing me from getting a fianc

Not really. One of the few things ArmA 2 did improve upon ArmA 1. Sprinting from a crouched position feels realistic. Running speed feels realistic and natural.

I forsee clunky, robotic movement/gameplay, buggy AI (hell bugs in general), and **** opimization/frame rates.

Thus, until I hear otherwise, I won't be excited for/purchasing this one.

Agreed. ArmA is a good franchise, but I got frustrated of all the gameplay problems. The last nail to the coffin was when I bought a high-end system last autumn and even that couldn't run ArmA2 well.

Yep hate to say it but I agree. I bought ARMA 2 and it felt like I had a really cool tech demo installed on my hard drive. It never felt like a "game" to me, even when I played with friends. Even in coop it was usually an exercise in frustration.

Both of us would spend most of our time tweaking graphics settings just so that we could see what was going on and frequently avoided certain areas on the map just because of ****ty performance LOL ... talk about a buzz-kill. Then once we had found ways around those things we'd get one shotted hiding in a bush by an AI a mile away and have to repeat the entire process. Then we played RO.

Hopefully they can make ARMA 3 1) run better 2) be easier to play without dumbing anything down 3) have decent AI 4) have a control scheme and command system that makes sense to the above-average human being, and 5) have a single player campaign that isn't bugged to the point of being broken.

For me, what makes spotting enemies the hardest is that the trees and bushes are constantly changing their appearance because the LOD is so careful not to overload my machine. How can I spot movement across the clearing when everything is moving :D

I completely agree. ArmA 2 AO is simply poorly optimized in some areas. A few trees can knock me down from 60 frame rates to 15-20. Trees are the biggest issue in regards to the games performance. Play in areas without trees and play the AO maps only.

Turning down the settings (even terrian detail to lowest) doesn't prevent the trees from killing my system. There does not seem to be a way to lower the detail settings on the trees either.

I agree with the rest of your points. I just need a better mission editor to.

It has come to the point where the only thing I do is place myself on a map and some bad guys and slaughter them all because the AI is too stupid to do much of anything.

Why they don't fix the issues with the game and just throw in fictional helicopters and random guns is beyond me.
