Eh, I just want the warfare to be realistic, tired of people one shotting me in the hand while I shoot them in the stomach. I prefer vehicle warfare though, armored cars are my favorite :3 If not, a jagdpanther

Once I buy a game, I don't buy any other games since I'm already having perfectly good fun with the game I already have. Battlefield 3 and Red Orchestra 2 are two different games, yet Battlefield 3 will have a satisfaction hole for everything around it. Battlefield 3 will keep players satisfied, same with Red Orchestra 2, but Battlefield 3 will be known on a much more monumental scale. It's probably better if RO2 is released in the Summer or a season before BF3 hits the shelves.

Also, whoever hasn't played Battlefield(before Bad Company) is missing a huge chunk of PC gaming. I'm sure I speak for most Red Orchestra players that they have at least one Battlefield game in their library.

How do we know this? From what I gather (admittedly, I'm uninterested in BF3 and haven't payed much attention), there hasn't been much released about the game save a flashy teaser and some SP/MP aspects.

It's probably better if RO2 is released in the Summer or a season before BF3 hits the shelves.

As I have said before, we have no idea how close RO2 is to TWI's vision of "ready", and I'd assume thats a fair deal away.

If Ostfront could sell extremly well being a game with a steep (compared to other shooters) steep learning curve, and Killing Floor could sell very well being the alternative to the Left 4 Dead series (Which could even be compared to BF3 in this scenario), I don't see how RO2 wouldn't be able to sell at least as many copies as TWI's previous games. Especially given the fact that Ost and KF had no advertising, save a bit of lovin' from Valve. All RO2 needs to do is be strong out of the gate and, if it's every bit as good as what we hear coming from people trying out the game, I can see it spreading like wildfire.

Also, whoever hasn't played Battlefield(before Bad Company) is missing a huge chunk of PC gaming. I'm sure I speak for most Red Orchestra players that they have at least one Battlefield game in their library.

Yep, Battlefield 1942 was one of my first FPS's and I loved it, although I don't like it as much as I used to. And Battlefield 2 was fun, but Project Reality really made the buy worthwhile...

Theres nothing like talking to a "hardcore" gamer about how much you liked/loved/enjoyed Battlefield 2, all the while slowly realizing you're talking about two completly different games...

For pure sales volumes, yes it would be better to release before BF3 or any big fps for that matter so you can get the most publicity/impact and win over your "non-core" player for a short while.

But for the community, does it matter? If RO2 releases before BF3 then all those more casual gamers will probably leave for BF3 anyway so in the end i think it comes down to just making the game damn good for its intended audience.

To say they are "Different games" is irrelevant in the arguement. It can be The sims 4 and someone, somewhere, will be making a choice.

Do I get Sims 4? Or do I get Red Orchestra 2? I only have

I'd be very interested to see how RO2 would do when going head to head with a game like BF3. Provided they magically had the budget to fit in commercials, and other necessary ads.

I can see it now.. A life size Russian soldier at gamestop.. haha

I agree with the others. Good games have been slaughtered by releasing at the same time as the huge games. The other thing is between now and summer TWI needs to get gamers' attention. Unless I missed it, I don't see a Red Orchestra 2 twitter page or Facebook page. I'd like to suggest you get those going if you haven't done so. Also, while I think all the appearances on Crossfire have been and will continue to be very helpful (that's how I learned of the game) if you can get on more podcasts or even something like GT.TV (gametrailers TV) to get the attention of gamers who are not aware of this gem.

I have been a battlefield fan from the beginning and an RO fan since the mod days and even if BF3 & RO2 released the same day I would buy both and just take a nice week off to put the hours into both!

Love a life-size russian/german guarding my bed when I sleep!

Transporting troops, but also flying fluently (no jerking sudden movement, don't know spelling) so both gunners can 'keep track of' and 'keep fire on' target.
Loved it when gunners suck in the other chopper, but by flying fast but 'fluently' you get loads of assist points. Felt so good:D

Anyway the post about games being different so we won't buy BF3 is just rubbish.
I like my girlfriend, that doesn't mean I don't like to see other pretty girls walking across the street!
