yes i do share a computer with my brother, im pretty sure quite a few other people also share computers with family members thats why i think multiple profiles would be a good idea
I'm lucky to have my own laptop for this situation but even if I didn't there is no way in HELL that we would EVER share the same Steam account.

I tried, trust me, but the idiot first, earned perks that I wanted to experiance and try to solve, and scored hours on games that I don't play anymore. Plus the risk of the noob doing something stupid and getting my Steam ID banned from servers, etc. (Some places, like Garry's forums require a Steam ID, if you get banned, sucks for you.)

If you and your brother can work together and save up money, then get him his own unique Steam account. I did that with mine, hell, he's got a crapload of games, all gotten on Sale. (Sales realy help here.) plus once I move out, he can buy his own games, because when that time comes, I'm sure he'll have a job and a Debit/Check Card where his Dosh goes.

As for profiles in Steam, well, first, different account would have its own unique Steam ID (If he gets banned from somewhere, you won't, unless ur the unlucky that has his IP banished too.), perks and achivements would be tied to that account, and so on.
Yeah your brother would need to get his own Steam Account if you want 2 seperate profiles. There isnt a log in for Killing Floor, all achievements and level progress are loaded straight to your steam profile, which in theory you and only you have access to.

Its the same for all steam based games
CoDMW2
CODBO (I think)
TF2
CSS
CS
DoD
Dysotopia
Half Life: Deathmatch
Red Orchestra
The list goes on.

So sadly no, since KF is tied to steam, there will never be a seperate login, as your lgin is considered your steam profile itself.
Agreed with you completly there.
I Bought KF twice, got myself 2 accounts just for making videos, lord praise the christmas sales!

To topic, steam is both a blessing and a curse, I don't like steam personally, I think its too much control, I feel like I'm in prison being watched with everything I do....Good for auto patching though, bad for disabling the game until its patched though...
I'm very close to going out, make a second Steam account, and purchase a second copy of KF. Like |----| neigh close. Love Tripwire Interactive, love KF, wish they'd make more DLCs so I could spend a little more dosh. :D

It really is, for me, I hate Steam yet love it at the same time. They really set me off with certain lag issues with the stupid Control Cloud, yet the sales really are something to DIE for, but then you're spending so much money on games that you'll only play for 20 hours then poof, etc, yet you will own that game for good, regardless if Steam is discountinued....

Ugh. Damn you Fatman....damn you...
Spoiler!

It takes forever to reach level 6 with all perks anyway so using the same profile is actually beneficial.
It's not like the game has a story to progress through or anything else anyway.
"Farming" wheter inside help or through friends on a server, is stupid and defeats the entire purpose of the game. Every gameplay is unique depending on the Squad, especially if yours is as coordinated as they can be.

^ That's a good example there, see how we're all 'migrating' from the Patriarch, trying to stay alive. You won't see that twice in a row on that same map, next Squad may be full of newbs who don't know jack, like this example here.

Freaking noobs.

Regardless, its a fun experience, one that I love to come back and play. Get your brother his own Steam account, huge Steam sale is predicted this summer....hint, hint. :) Plus, KF's one of the best purchases I've made from Steam, along with The Orange Box. THX TWI!

I have killing floor and a steam account installed on my computer. I have another computer in my house that i want to install killing floor and play online at the same time.

Whats the best way to do this? Should i register for another steam account and buy it through there? Or should i buy a copy? Is there another way of doing this without having to purchase killing floor again since i already have through steam(It was sent to me as a gift)?

Please help. Thank you

no way that i know of, the best way would be to get another copy, if you don't want to set up another steam account just to purchase it, which i would understand, you would probably be best to just buy a hard copy.

Steam games are assigned to an account and are not transferable. You won't be able to add a key to your account that is in use by someone else.

All versions of the game, digital or retail, require Steam.
