SP is just the multiplayer maps with bots, iirc.

I recall it's a little more detailed than that. With special objectives and a storytelling aspect of the war behind it

As for the OP's question.. I believe modding will be like other UT games where a mutator would be used to enable the mod and disable the mod easily

So even if it was for SP it could easily be disabled for MP
just my 2 cents

i watched single play i came to the exact conclusion that he did its a glorified multiplayer with bots. sure it has a bit speech at the begining but everything else is pretty much the same. :) i think this may very well be the reason the game is 40 bucks. because it doesn't have a true single player story or campaign as they call it.

however that doesn't mean single player won't be fun or that it won't be good. it just menas that it won't be the main focus and more of a training thing as they've stated. in other words you don't have to pay for the single player. thats just my opinion and i don't think it will hurt the game at all as people torrent single player games now a days and buy multplayer games. me i do the opposite (i don't torrent games so much as don't buy them.) but i buy my single player games and don't buy that many multiplayer games.

I'd take that over the scripted tunnel shooter superhero action games that have been sold to us under the guise of a military shooter any day.

I doubt it is. BF2 didn't have an SP, yet it was $50.

On-rail sp is also mostly multiplayer maps stitched together with some scripted events to make it fluid. (exaggeration, I know)

It's not like this is worse because of the maps also used in multiplayer.
Raven shield is the ultimate mp with bots, nobody ever complained there (because it was absolutely stunning:D)

40 bucks is btw not cheap, it's fair.
Everything above is a rip-off:rolleyes: (needed to cover the huge marketing costs)

edit: Not everything above 40 is a rip-ff, I meant the usual 50+15*dlc=actual price

40 buks is fair and square.
It is not a fair price becaus of the sp acking a bit.
I'll be buying it for mp anyways.

I bought half life 2 for 35 Euro's when it was released.

As for the sp they will adjust the AI of bots, cus indeed it looks like a mp map with bots.
Only the bots are a bit smarter than the original ones.

To actually answer OP's question: Yes you probably can mod the crap out of SP with no effect on MP, if RO2's similar to other UE games.

For your mods to work online the server you play on has to have them loaded, otherwise the game will use its default assets.
