Problem in RO1 was with the grenade spam. You pretty much had to fight your way through doorways and everyone carrying 2 grenades cleared out the rooms fast.
Agreed, a bloody firecracker is louder. Same goes for artillery, in RO1 artillery was louder than any other sound, now, all sounds are on the same level, be it a pistol bang or an artillery shell hitting the ground.
I don't think nade spam would be much of a problem with Friendly Fire being turned on. I sparingly use grenades now because A. They are weak B. A team mate might be in the room or area I throw the nade and I do not wish to TK him.Yes they're underpowered, but they beat nade spam hands down![]()

One of the biggest RO1 gameplay problems was and is nadespam.
Luckily, there is no nadespam in RO2. There WILL be nadespam in RO2 when the grenades get any more powerful.
Grenades are just right in RO2 imo.
Grenades are perfectly balanced in this game. Everyone has two of them, if they were any more effective they would become primary weapons.
