I don't speak Vietnamese, so umm, I can't tell, as long as it isn't terrible (See BattleStations: Pacific, the American voices...) and I play with the non-native voices because I like to know what they're saying, as I'm not trilingual with Russian and german as my second and third language after English.
Although it's been 50 years, that doesn't mean you assume that it has changed. Vietnamese hasn't changed that much in 50 years. I've heard the way we talk then and now. There isn't that much difference other than a few new words being introduced as time goes on just like any other language. And on the matter of people understanding it or not, I should've stated this when I first posted. I'm not asking for this to be a top priority thing, just a nice addition that they can add if they are able to do it. I know they have much more important matters at the moment.
Thats like you know, talking on Belorussian or Ukranian language, I'm Russian and can tell the difference, but english speaking or other foreign nationalities will not. I dont want to get infraction, but please think one more time about what is more important to the Devs. Yes, currently its dialects, maybe you wont tell the difference but other Asian nationalities will know there is some sort of hackwork during voice acting.
So its more important than you think.
All regions speak the same language. They can all understand eachother. Now the devs could go through the effort to finding people who know these dialects, or they could focus on gameplay which is 90% of what is important. I'd understand if North vietnam spoke Chinese and the South spoke Vietnamese but no, they all speak the same language with little different accents and dialects.
There are infinite things they could add to make the game more authentic but there are bigger priorities.
