Mm, I know what you're saying. Well xbow wouldn't really be intended for FP after this, still great weapon for Scrakes.@nd2spd:
Really appreciated that you took your time to make this video, it really cleared something in my mind. But well... I still think that hallway in the testmap distance is a bit too long compared to usual reliable hole up points in the game. Bedlam spawn and Westlondon church comes to my mind, but in anyway, you shown the way how it should be done. If sharp really needs to get near he shoulda grab an M14+LaR/Musket anyway.
Well I was just trying to communicate the point for reload speed to make sharpshooter more skilled and less OP (I see it as 2nd most OP under zerk, trying to keep thread on-topic is why I'm not addressing broad balance concerns). I guess I wouldn't be opposed to some logical damage tweaks, but I have no idea about how you would safely do them. Also I really believe something should be done about M99 and yes, I still think about bodyshot damage, forced scope and no more offperk Scrake stun shots. (I mean come on! Single bullet costs more than the level 6 Demolition pipebombs)
After seeing this video I'm really not entirely sure about it but I can say yes for Crossbow reload bonus removal, although If reload bonus removed from both xbow and M99; I do believe crossbow will make M99 obsolete.
And if we remember that although it takes 3 shots to kill FP in the IJC vid, I intended the demonstration for speed only as, in the situation of the damage staying the same, it would be dead on second shot. That would mean you can take FP in about half the length of the hallway, and I wouldn't have to back up half as much so the headshots would be a bit easier. Which is kinda the main issue I had with the weapons nowadays is that with the speed of them you don't even have to use the scopes if you're that close to the target.
So to clarify, xbow is full hallway to kill, M99 is half hallway to kill but M99 is much less forgiving because longer reload, it has big advantage of 1-shotting scrakes.
Get what I'm saying?
