My fps is fine on the beta and on retail, but the latest patch brought the "hitching" or micro stutter, whichever you call it.

It's weird, the "big" patch (the 3+ gb one) boosted my FPS and made everything way better. But then after the recent 18ish MB patch that came with the stat resets, I'm getting loads of hitching and is sadly making it somewhat unplayable. But I do hesitate to blame it entirely on the patch, I'll do some fiddling and see what happens...

I get a bit of stutter, and an odd freeze where audio stretches and sounds like my sound card died. Only game for this to happen in.

The game greatly improved the visuals and have better FPS, but I can also confirm the stuttering.

In Pavlov's house, starts fine, but by the end of the second round is almost unplayable, memory leak perhaps? Could it be triggered by artillery? I notice I got more stuttering when artillery was falling, but it kept stuttering after the artillery stopped.

1680x1050@60hz - High-Ultra settings, constant 60fps, except when looking at the smoke from the burned train in the square, where it drops to 40fps(and also gets more stuttering)

I think you're on to something. I tend not to notice it until the artillery starts (and I hear the excessive audio popping that goes with the stutters).

It either has something to do with smoke/particle effects or sound, because two of the surefire ways to trigger it for me are: artillery, and firing certain weapons (the PPSh most notably, which creates lots of smoke compared to other guns)

I notice some stuttering when firing PPSh too.

The smoke from the smoke grenades seem harmless though.

Edit, I think the ppsh thing is just the first shot, so its probably because of sound loading.

That's true for me as well

Maybe its because they made the smoke uglier in beta to help with performance. Now its just expanding textures.

The PPSh smoke might be actual particle effects going on, same thing with the artillery.

Ive always been getting the stutter and like Chicken I also think it might be sound related.

THe new patch seems smoother but I still get a slight stutter when I lift my ironsights in certain areas - as the sights come up, it feels like the game lags a little, as though its loading textures. Sometimes it doesn't happen, sometimes its not bad, but often its bad enough to make me miss my shot - very frustrating.

It also happens when firing the PPSh. Just tapping the trigger, the game stutters, which often leads to me dying. It happened with the MP40 the other day too. I saw a Russian, lifted and aimed, and held the trigger to give a long burst. Instead, there was a stutter, I fired only one round, he died and that was it - but I was still holding the mouse button down. So the stutter is affecting the control input as well.

It's really irritating. The game would be so much smoother and pleasurable to play if it wasnt for the stutter.

The game definitely has a memory leak towards the end of longer rounds.

Oh how I enjoy seeing the game go by at frame-per-frame/second speed.

I also have lots of stuttering since the latest patch & loads of textures seem to be 'corrupted'/half-rendered when looked at from some distance away.
