TWI didn't make Berezina. I love that map, but don't think it was official...

Isn't it also true that any maps made with the HoS sdk become the intellectual property of TWI, whether they be new or remakes of Ostfront maps.I guess as Zets said, it was made by Slyk but became official or owned by TWI because of contest rules etc.
As with the Tractorworks map, I guess that means the ROOST versions are property of TWI, but I imagine anyone can attempt to remake them for inclusion into ROHOS since it is a different game. I always think it is polite to get the original author's permission or blessing to remake a map, especially a strictly custom one, not sure how that is for official ones.
But then as most of you know, Berezina isn't a 'Stalingrad' setting.
As a side note, I would rather see completely new maps from TWI rather than remakes and let mappers convert the old ones. As good as they were at the time, I did get tired of playing most of them after 5 1/2 years and really look forward to new maps more than new guns/uniforms/vehicles etc. The same maps make things more stale quicker than the same guns![]()

Its just a legal thing i think, i don't think that TWI would take a community made mod and claim it was theirs, unlike some other developers out there, who stole many community mods,slightly altered them,added it to their game and called it their own,Cod 4 springs to mind.Possibly, although I wonder what that actually means. In other words I doubt that means TWI would see a great custom map from the community and then try to steal it as their own. You got me Major![]()
I dont think we should have Tripwire remake any maps at all.
Leave that to the modders, Tripwire have a long list of things to do, performances fixes, gameplay tweaks and of course the long task of creating vehicles (admittedly this is also something the modders could do).
The SDK is still young, we will see remakes and other such things begin to show up en masse sooner or later.
A reworked map of enemy at the gates of ROost for RO2 should be made.

auto snipe tank guns, super accurate run and gun, fast running speed, and unlimited artillery for Soviets...the map will be captured in matter of minutes.
And oh yeah...no panzerfausts for the Axis.
