I have been following Questionable Content for a few years now and I have to say I think it is definitely one of the best web comix going, if you can get behind the characters. It is full of gentle, reasonably mature and very well-observed humour.

If any uninitiated out there want to enter the world of Hannelore, Sven, Martin and the others then go to http://questionablecontent.net/ and start from the beginning... much better if you know everyone's back story first.

FAVE Character - either Hannelore , Marigold or Yelling Bird.

Who's yours?

I started reading through it today. The art at the beginning has a pretty bad case of the suck, though. It does appear to get better later on.

My personal favorite WC's at the moment are XKCD, Cyanide and Happiness, and Sluggy Freelance.

I'm up to ~650 or so now.

It's actually a little difficult to read, really. Faye reminds me entirely too much - in terms of both appearance and issues - of someone that I used to be quite close to. Looks like Faye is actually dealing with things better though, and is likely to remain among the living.

But, it's pretty engrossing. Worth reading, for sure. And to say that the art has improved is really an understatement. I'm really impressed with the author. At the beginning, he was just scribbling some really poorly drawn stuff 3 times a week, and within 3 years he'd turned it into a full-time business with actual employees.

Yeah - he also very rarely misses a day - he arranged cover from other artists for certain occasions and prolly has a few 'emergency' yelling birds lying around for when he gets hungover. :D

I've been going at a much slower pace since I started, I'm currently at 1370 . Stretching the backlog out over a longer amount of time is more enjoyable. I also pay more attention to the art, which has made an incredible improvement.

Favorite characters:
Hannelore - In some ways I am a disturbingly close real life counterpart to her, which makes her all the more relate-able.
Faye - By far the most realistic QC character both visually and in personality.
Pintsize - He (at least I impart that gender on him) is specifically designed for comic relief and always succeeds to make me laugh.

*Edit* 1446 now and it is past midnight, can't sleep :(.
