Hi,

Maybe we can turn this into a "in which package can i find special mesh xyz" thread? :D
Personally, i'm searching for a simple church pew, not sure if there is any and if... where? :)

Somewhere I saw a package named religious or it was a group. Maybe it is in there. I wish that there was some reporting function to get a list of what is in each package. I will try to look when I am at home. Items are kind of scattered all over the place in there. Someone made a custom map ?MGA? maybe that had a church in it there may be a Pew in thre that you could use if you dont find it elsewhere.

Yes, there definitely appears to be a need for some sort of navigation aid to find which meshes are in what packages and groups.

I think a spreadsheet listing static meshes in alphabetical order and corresponding packages (and probably groups) would be really helpful.

So I'll make one. If anyone wants to help please let me know. I'll send a spreadsheet template and give you a package or two to list everything in.

Seems like there should be a way to export the list to a text file first I would look at that approach before doing it by hand.

Yeah, that was the package which first came to mind, but no pew inside. Was thinking about some map-specific mesh package as well, but nothing.
Well, looks like i have to model one, wont be that hard, i guess.

Agreed, a search function for package contents...that'd be awesome. Or at least a mesh/ texture list... i have to say, the most time-consuming thing about UEd is searching all the packages :D.

The Static Mesh catalogue now has 573 entries. I figure I'm about half way there. It's organized alphabetically once by package name and once by static mesh name and is fully searchable. Hopefully I'll be posting an completed and indexed pdf on Monday.

Its wild how many statics I came across that I didn't know about or forgot.

This is certainly impressive are you manually typing in all of the entries? I would have just put the package and the groups found within and make a not ow which package just has like 2 items in it and which ones contain crap. Have you tried opening a package in notepad. I wonder what you would see. Currently my comp is down but should be back up in a few days and I will take a look. If there are some consistent markers and object info in there I could write a program to grab the info for a list. If you have a second take a look at it may be able to save you some work.
