Any interest Western XIXe american mod?

Well, except for the fact that the game is going to be a 3rd-person shooter, Red Dead Redemption looks positioned to make quite a splash representing the lore of the Old American West (and it's slated to be released in about a month for the consoles):

After fifteen years playing military-themed computer games/sims, if RDR comes out for the PC, which is a strong rumor, I'll buy it even if it's only in the third-person, because it looks so intriguing.
Btw, RDR does have a sniper scope *FPS* viewpoint in-game (see the Multiplayer Free Roam video):

I'd love to see a western mod... FoF was (almost) very good. Just never quite seemed to get off the ground. A couple of us were playing it a lot in the office

The gaming industry is as cut-throat as any other business, with huge egos involved, and millions of investment dollars on the line, and to the most successful, sometimes billions to be earned. The days of my boycotting a game in order to "send a message" are long over, because if the game ends up being any good, I just end up hurting myself missing out. Besides, anyone can wait till a game comes out, to be able to judge it after the player reviews start coming in.
To be sure, don't pre-order.......any game today.

I used to play FoF a lot too, had some great fun on that mod.

I found Call of Juarez to be a great first person Western. The MP wasn't particularly deep, but I played it for the SP anyway. The sequel "Bound in Blood" was ok too. Not as good, but playable. And the engine was even prettier.

A Western Mod could be interesting. Pistols, rifles, shotguns, maybe the occassional gatling gun. Good guys vs bad. I could see this as a team based mod.
