In general for a game that is not out yet. When you want to buy a computer to run that game well. At least wait till you know a release date, and buy the actual computer as close to that release date as possible.

Hardware gets revamped like every 6 months. And with that not all parts at the same time (although loads before xmas usually). If you do not need a new computer yet then wait till you actually do.

It uses unreal engine 3. But it uses a much newer version than UT 3 did (with our own additions), and we are not targeting the same hardware specs as UT 3 did. So in other words, just because it ran UT 3, does not mean it will run Heroes.

Ooh okay. Looking forward to the new additions to the engine.

Will Nvidia or ATI be releasing any new cards soon that people should wait for? Or will these new cards be early next year?

Well, the 8800GT is exactly the same as the 9800GT ( same cards, different bios to show different models ) which is roughly 10-15% slower than my HD4770, depending on the game tested. That's why I think that the 8800GT will be able to run the game on medium settings.

And not be able to run Metro 2033 in a playable fashion, which was my point when you said you hadn't found a game the 8800GT couldn't run acceptably. Hard work but we got there in the end

Edit: I have had an 8800GT for the last 18 months ( it's in my GF's machine now ) so I know how well it performs :)
