I just picked up a Radeon 5750 open box deal on newegg for 94 dollars. Really great bang for the buck. I had a nvidia 8600gts and could play Arma II with fps in the teens. Now I get 30-40 fps on high settings much more playable. My hardware is a little aged but I still think its going to be solid for HOS.

He said it isn't Unreal Tournament 3 (which came out in May 2009, we'd all be disappointed if ROHOS looked the same as an old title).

But it is based around the same Unreal engine, all be it an updated version TWI has the access to the source code of...

The engine itself has been updated since UT3, with many new features (some of which require more horse power from the cpu and gpu), and as Sheep has so kindly stated, we have made our own additions as well.

When we have all features in place, we will do min and recommended spec testing. But as I said, a strong multi core (2.5+ ghz) with 2 to 4 gigs of ram, and a close to current GPU should have you in a strong position.

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but will a Mac / Apple product version be available for this game?

I guess if so you may need an expensive high end model of those to play due to the visuals the game will bring?

You will definitely be able to play it, at least medium settings, I think. The 8800 is still a pretty good card.

I'm sorry is this trolling?

Surely given what we've just discussed, there's no way of telling if this is true?

The game isn't going to be coming out for at least 6 months, and you're suggesting that the 8800GT - which came out 3 years ago will be able to run it on medium settings?

Well, it runs Crysis at not-so-high resolutions, and Crysis looks tons better than HoS looks right now. This game's focus is not graphics, so it won't be the next big thing in graphics. Also, I have yet to encounter a game which doesn't run well on an 8800GT.

I can run Crysis a hell of a lot better than UT3 though. And it's an updated version the Unreal 3 engine, which I expect to be far more demanding - just like RO was to UT2004.

Try Metro 2033 if you want to see that your GT is out of date :p

I should have a 460GTX tomorrow that will replace the 8800gt that has done very well over the last couple of years.

I can run UT3 maxed out on a 22"WS monitor at 60fps.
ArmAII sticks around 28fps all settings on normal.

The extra Vram is going to help with most new titles.
I'll get back in a couple of days and let you know how it is.

Well fiftyone I imagine it'll be sexy! :D

Pleased as punch !

Just to get it out of the way, UT3 still goes at 60/62.7 fps but is as smooth as goats milk :).

Now, the only bench mark that I regularly run is ArmAII/OA.

E8400 2core/3go ddr2 ram/Xp SP3/X-Fi Gamer.
Before (all normal +or-) 28 fps.
After (.......dito.........) 39 fps.

I had to set the Vram to Very High, otherwise the game crashed, (trice).
I have now set everything to High.

Even these forums load faster, and I ain't f*c*ing joking :D.

See, this is just the opposite for me. I could run UT3 great, everything cranked, 1920x1080, on an AMD x2 3800+ with a 9600GT, and still pretty well on the same CPU with a 7600GT. Crysis still runs like crap on a Phenom 9850 with a pair of ATI 4870's in Crossfire.
