These are the ones that I've probably used the most.

Axe / Pump Shotgun / Hunting Shotgun

This is a pretty classic Support loadout that I've used many times over. Once you know some combos, you can take out any ZED the game throws at you. The Pump Shotgun can be replaced with the Combat Shotgun if you want.

Katana / Pump Shotgun / Hunting Shotgun / MK23

Another classic loadout that a lot of my friends like to use. Again, it can handle any ZED the game throws at you. The MK23 can be replaced with the .44 Magnum and the Pump Shotgun can be replaced with the Combat Shotgun.

Machete / Combat Shotgun / Hunting Shotgun / Handcannon

If you prefer the Handcannon over the .44 or the MK23, then this a good one. The Machete can still allow you to take Scrakes but it's riskier so I would only do this one if you know the team Sharpshooter can kill Scrakes reliably.

There are also plenty of others that utilize off-perk weapons like the M14, M32, Husk Fireball Launcher, etc. but I wouldn't recommend them until you're really comfortable with the game mechanics and teamplay.

Your load out is only as good as you are. Support can go with pretty much a combination of anything if you can make it work and if you know you have support from teammates on some designated specimens.

That said, this is your bread & butter support load out that's pretty standard:

Axe/Pump/Hunting shotgun

*axe can be replaced by katana if you want - it leaves you a space for a mk23/magnum/flare pistol

*Pump can be replaced with combat shotgun/ksg/aa12(only have space for katana with this)

This load out lets you deal with scrakes using the melee flinch + chinshot technique and in combination with grenades, take down fleshpounds quite easiliy, it does not have to cost a lot to acquire or maintain, and is suited for almost every playstyle and camping location.

This is *NOT* the end-all be-all loadout for supports and you can, in a lot of cases, be successful with literally whatever it is you want. However, the load out I listed is very popular for a reason; it allows the support specialist to deal with every single specimen relatively easily compared to a lot of other load outs in most situations.

Do not be afraid to experiment with different load outs to see what you like the most and what weapons will be most advantageous in different situations :)

I personally am almost exclusively given to HS + pump/combat + axe, the reason being that it's dirt cheap. I don't use the AA12 unless cash is flowing and I need to be dealing with a lot of trash because frankly I find a pump to be just as handy and cheaper and doesn't have the sluggish reload.

I play with:
- Hunting Shotgun (critical situations, combos)
- HSG-1 (line up trash)
- MK23 (one hits trash)
- Axe[or Katana] (combos and single trash)

This is a quite cheap loadout and I can highly recommend it.

Use my favorite support loadout. It too can take on anything the game throws at you: hand cannon + hunting shotgun + chainsaw

this is a fun one^ my favorite support load would be M14, M79, hunting, the most cost effective IMO is Pump/axe/hunting, though i also enjoy combat/katana/magnum/hunting, and occasionally combat/aa12 for the lulz.

+1

My third loadout option is:

Machete / Pump Shotgun / Hunting Shotgun / M79

Still able to take any zed in the game, the introduction of the M79 allows you to take crowds of zeds really easily on camping spots like Biotics.

My general loadout either takes the M79 or Katana, depending on whether I'm going to be in a secure camping spot with limited entrances (M79) or whether I might have to clutch or am more likely to have to fight scrakes (katana).
If I die, I'll take the axe loadout instead.

Pump / HS, the classic... you just need a competent team to back you up a bit with the larger specimens. I really never find myself in need of using a Handcannon, Melee, or Grenade Launcher as featured in the above loadouts, I think it's better to give the money you'd spend on that to people in your team who are a bit lacking, and guarantee yourself armor for the round if you can (although HS is just as costly as ever). The one thing I see people do with Support that bothers me is not really practicing ammo conservation with Support... if you're not getting at least 2 kills per shell you don't need to be using a shotgun in that situation.

Vlad is a fun change if you know how to use it, as well.

combat/aa12 is my WALL OF BUCKSHOT loadout, but I recommend hunting/pumpy greatly.

pump > combat > hsg-1 for me.

When I can rely on my teammates perks to handle some of the big specs, I like to use KSG-12 + M79 exclusively for handling the trash and keep AA-12 ammo in reserve to go full retard and spam big specs to death.
