No disagreement here.... its just that using the Welcome Screen is a tad more "immediate". ;)

If the mutator(s) were unloaded/removed then I would most certainly remove the notice. I say this after a 28 hour test to see if there are any trubs with keeping the two muts up and running reliably. They are reliable.

A mutator sometimes can get unloaded on a map change if there is a mistake in the configuration of a server. As an admin, you won't get a message if that happens, meaning you will be too late to remove any message from the welcome screen.

I have this running on our server and the .u file is also on our redirect.

If I browse manually for this file on the redirect from a web browser, the file downloads in a couple of seconds, but when I connect to the server, it is coming down really slowly :confused:

Everything else on the redirect is coming down super quick....

Make sure you have the exact same version of the mutator on both, the server and download re-direct.

I do, i downloaded it yesterday and its the first time ive even looked at it. it seemed to be fine last night.

Might be worth uploading again...

EDIT: just downloaded the one off the server and uploaded that one to the redirect, and it's still slow.

In ROEngine.ini, under [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver], you will find AllowDownloads. Set it to False. Watch out, there is another AllowDownloads, under [Engine.DemoRecDriver] in the same file, but you don't need to change it.

That can already happen in the game.

That is a bug in the vanilla game.

Um...yeah, that would be related to the mutator. That should not be possible unless your head, or some part of the enemy, was clipping through the wall. Could you screenshot where it was happening?

Unfortunately not. A brief description though. I was on the Red October map as Russians and was attacking C. There is a little hole on the right side of that objective.

When I arrived to the wall he was looking through the hole, I hipshooted him and missed and ducked for cover immediately. I believe at the same time he was spamming the melee button and I died exactly behind the wall.

The next spawn, I went to the exact spot and stabbed the wall randomly knowing that he's still there. After 3 tries I killed him. So it happened twice in a row :D

That sounds like a simple latency thing. He probably poked you when you were still standing on his side. You -are- supposed to be able to stab through gaps, and because the melee attack trace comes from your eyes instead of the weapon, it can appear like you're poking them through an obstruction that you're actually going over the top of.
I have deleted all the file, and re-installed the server, still no weapon.
If you downloaded the mutator and manually placed it in your client's directory, the game will not load it properly and you will not be able to use or see any of the overridden weapons. Mutators only load properly on the client side from the automatic cache - let the game download it.

To give a purely technical response, yes, the time gap for this illusion is increased beyond the gap that already exists in the base game. In practice, however, RO2 is a slow-paced enough game, especially in regards to player movement, that it's of next to no import, and your "actual" death location is fuzzy enough to begin with due to the mechanics of bleeding, slow death and penetrable objects.

Weapon switching bugs are from RO2.

Advanced Ballistics causes crashes right now so everyone has it disabled.
