I pre-ordered homefront, i thought it was pretty good but everyone else disagreed with me massively, i probably liked it so much because i always ended up top of the leaderboards luckily i have RO to show me that it's not possible to get 62-1 in real life :p

Nice! It sounds like he found the game refreshing.

The truth is, I have been avoiding mainstream shooters for the last few years and have stuck to RO and FH2 for my WWII action fix. Then I decided to try the Homefront demo last week, and decided to discover for myself what mainstream FPS gamers play these days.

My discovery: FPS games have become so easy! After about a minute of orienting myself in the level and memorizing the spawns, I was already at the top of the server, just wasting people left and right. The guns had no recoil, the reload speed was super fast, and aiming was a breeze, even while moving. It was so easy it honestly felt like I was cheating. Every time I joined a server, I immediately destroyed everyone. It was pure insanity ...

.... then I got bored, uninstalled it, and went back to playing RO, where I promptly got my *** handed to me on a platter by the RO faithful. Aaah home at last!

I hear you my friend. I remember getting into a discussion with one of my managers about how he feels that CoD is difficult to get above a 2 kdr when I can manage that by just running around and meleeing people.

The games are just so simple and easy, that it truly doesn't feel like "self gratification" to me. I love making sure that I put effort into every kill I make, and every inch of land I seize.

I SEE ROLLED UP SLEEVES!

anyway, I can't wait for the game to come out, I like the poncho the marksman has, although I am not sure what use it may be except for enemy snipers to identify you

I agree that new FPSs are too arcadey and easy but Battlefield is an seems to have somewhat the same feel as RO. Maybe not as realistic but at least teamwork and skill are required to win and that it's objective based. Battlefield 3 looks absolutely stunning, I'm sure it will Game of the Year awards from multiple gaming websites.

They can better rename it 'Marketing of the year' or 'Trailers of the year', would be more fittting.
At least thats what past experience tells me.

Hopefully everyone will be able to wear it seeing as it was provided to all frontline troops.

I dont know guys, Im looking forward to G4TV's review of RO2 the most out of everybody's.

Not that I think it'll be a good review, Im just very, very curious about what they'll say this time. The last one was such a hearty laugh at their expense, maybe this one will either be an unbiased redemption, or perhaps it will be another hearty laugh at their expense. Are they still doing video reviews?
