Good afternoon gents. Kettch has been slightly naughty. The Epic page linked there is indeed our 'showcase' UDK release. However it was not quite ready for public dissemination just yet- there's still typos and suchlike in it.
No matter anyway, the file is correct, and their mirror is fast
Now then, to address the inevitable questions:
This release is based off our RC8 msuc codebase. Porting it to UDK was a massive ballache, hence only two maps were converted. In no sense is it to be considered a demo of our future retail version, it is simply a 'we scratch your back, you scratch ours' promo exercise at epic's request.
It has multiplayer. This came as a surprise that it even still worked online, so yay for that.
UDK has no server browser/ master server solution. Currently, just for the sake of this promo, we did not want to go to the effort and cost involved in coding and running our own, particularly when there is a likelyhood of of steamworks integration ini the near future.
Therefore we added an irc client linked to our public channel where you can get and swap server ip's,and chat, ask us questions and so forth. A bit old-fashioned i know, how spoiled todays gamers are, but thems the apples.
If you wish to host, open the same ports as UT3 and it should be fine. You can always ask if you get stuck.
Anyway, blah blah aside, have fun folks, I hope you enjoy it and take it for what it is
Oh! Also, before I forget:
