Interesting..
I am new to RO, but a long time WWII and FPS fan so I had to check this out. I concur with most of the compliments about this vid mentioned. Gore was appreciated to bring the stakes home a bit more. But the animation and detail of the first person tanking was the stand out for me. At last one seems to get a feel for being IN a tank. Buttoned up they are like iron coffins : visibility greatly restricted. However I am not wetting my pants in anticipation just yet. There are a few things which concern me.. - I saw NO bullet marks/decals on walls where they were hit by small arms fire. I hope this is IN at release. - The player models seemed poor by today's standards - low texture detail, low poly, no bump mapping etc. Germans looked almost identical to original MOHAA IMO. - Recoil animation looked poor from third person perspective. All recoil seems absorbed in the arms, which bounce like little jachammers (with auto weapons). But zero (?) kick to upper and rest of the body, so the guys look too much like puppets. What say you? After buying DOD:S recently, I don't think I shall be rushing out to get RO without a demo (b/c DOD:S was a letdown for me).
