[ and ] menu ala OFP

Ever tried picking up that shiny polished Luger with your negatively charged hands, when those filthy MP40 magazines gave the Luger a negative charge?

I've played cold war crisis once, and I really liked the [ and ] menu. It makes item pick up a lot easier, less keys to bind, n00b-friendly, etc. I hope the devs are going to consider this after RO:O is released.

Allthough I really like OFP, i find that system quite cumbersome...

I agree with Ace of Spades. Of course OFP is a bit "slower" in playing so in the heat of a fast RO battle, the menu would have to prove itself.

Rattus makes a good point. In OFP it is quite nice because of the slower gameplay, and larger maps.

In RO I think it would become way too cumbersome, due to the smaller areas and faster gameplay. I would rather pick up the extra magazines in a shorter time and ditch them later, rather than wrestle the damned menu to pick up all 4 magazines included with the weapon.

I'm sure it would look like this in game.

Who says it has to be as clumsy as in OFP? It could be tidied up so that it picks up all ammo of the same type when you pick up a gun with that ammo type.

True. It could be something like this:

Pick up MP40
Pick up MP40 + ammo

You can't pick up MP40 mags unless you have an MP40 anyways, so making it so that you pick up MP40 mags and drop a K98 clip is pretty much useless.

PS: True, OFP is slower paced than RO, but it does take a long time to pick up a gun when mags of another type are blocking the way, so the [ and ] menu will speed that up.
