Right now, if you hold R to check your ammo, you receive one of the following messages:

The magazine is full.
The magazine is over half-full.
The magazine is close to empty.
The magazine is very close to empty. (rarely seen)

For weapons like the SVT-40, this is more than sufficient, but I feel that this can still be improved upon for higher-capacity weapons like the PPSh-41 (w/ drum mag) and the MG34. I think something similar to the following scheme would be ideal:

The magazine is full. (100%)
The magazine is close to full. (>75%)
The magazine is over half-full. (>50%)
The magazine is less than half-full. (>25%)
The magazine is close to empty. (>0%)

And on weapons like the Nagant Revolver (and maybe the Mosin-Nagant & K98k as well? I don't know much about these weapons), we can actually count the bullets left:

The magazine is full.
There are X rounds left in the magazine.

Basically, I just think that a transition stage between over half-full and full would be nice. I'm not sure if this would necessarily be realistic, though. I've never fired a weapon in my life before. Thoughts?

Currently it is 100/50/25/10%, I guess, and it is fine - I reload always when my magazine is close to empty or very close to empty after checking it. I am not convinced if expansion of current ammo check is needed or worth the effort to add in the situation we have with the game right now, when we have more pressing matters at hand. Maybe in the future?

So do you want a actual round count??? the purpose of the whole full, half, etc... is you would not actually know unless you physically counted the rounds. You are not going to do that in the heat of combat hence the current system we have as it was in RO1. This would be unrealistic and this feature is what sets RO apart from other FPS.

Of course not; that would be terrible for gameplay. I was referring to the Nagant Revolver in particular, because to check how many rounds you have left, you need to pop open the cylinder and then count out the individual rounds left. In this case, it's more realistic to know exactly how many rounds you have left. Something like this would be impossible with a weapon like the PPSh-41. I also mentioned the Mosin-Nagant and K98k because I thought it might not be impossible for a soldier to open the action and visually inspect how many rounds are left in the magazine, but this seems unlikely to me. Someone who actually owns one of these weapons can provide insight on this matter.
