Fun Story from the Halloween event:

I was helping a friend to get the Bedlam map achievement and the 25 Scrake kills. When he took out two Scrakes with a single shot I saluted him and a level 6 Berzerker that joined late, thought that I did the Scrake kills and threatened me, when I shoot just one more Scrake, he will track back my account, find out where I live and visit me with a shotgun. Then he got killed by a horde of crawlers and left the game without one single Scrake. Some peeps...

Some of these players..."DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH THAT SPECIMEN!" It's like they own the floor.

Guarding the Super Missile
Hit a new low today:
Playing on Normal with my Berserker, I noticed one of the Medics on our team was spraying at Scrakes and several teammates were getting badly hurt by them. I told them to call out the Scrakes and I would handle them. The Medic argued, saying I couldn't handle them solo because I only had a Katana.
I then tried to explain to him how to flinchlock Scrakes with Katana headshots as a Berserker. He insisted I could only do it from behind, and called me a scrub.
I told him "watch, I'll show you with the next Scrake that shows up."
The next (and last; this was wave 10) Scrake to show up was surrounded by dozens of zeds, including Sirens, all those damn Crawlers, and three Fleshpounds. Naturally I was unable to get close to it.
After we defeated the Patriarch, I said "gg." He said "hush, Lord Scrubbington" and left the game.

I hope he trips and falls down a flight of concrete stairs.

Hungry PolarBear, myself, this guy named RiCHiE, and three other guys who's names I can't remember were playing Frightyard HoE... We were doing really good, everyone was cool, we whooped up on Pat. No problemo. RiCHiE was leading the scoreboard and right when the Pat died he does that instant suicide thing. I NEEDED THE ACHIEVE AND DIDN'T GET IT.

HoE Frightyard is a joke compared to HoE Steamland.

That being said, I have noted that the crapchute for the pubs in my KFO server is the crane. They typically get they have to stand on the button to make the process move, but the instant an FP shows up, they scatter. I have only personally seen (spectated) 2 groups of pubs on my server who have made it past the crane. I've spectated at least 15 games by now. Of two that made it past the crane, the first one actually made it all the way to the end, killing pat and sinking the ship.

As for my own actual in game stories - When I was doing HoE Frightyard, we wiped at least 3 times on the crane before we figured out you could just leave a medic on the button while the other 5 players (zerks) just run everything around, trying only to kill FP's and scrakes if necessary. And thats the story of how I completed HoE frightyard objective with pubs.

proud2.png

The first attempt was what worked for me in suicidal, which was to crowd the button with 4 zerks and 2 medics. That didn't work out on HoE though, as 2 FP's immediately spawned and 1 person ran off (we had 3 medics instead of 2). Second attempt was to actually leave one person on the button and fight right around that area, which also didn't work out because we got swamped by FP's.

I wish the instructions that say "on the button is down and off the button is up" actually worked. That would make things much more doable. I've seen way too many pubs on hard just get rectum ravaged once the crane is in the last quarter (going back up).

Did you spectate one of my games this weekend? I played on your pub hard Obj mode this weekend.

I got a second license for KF on an alternate account. First thing I wanted to do was to surprize some friends on HoE as a level 0. Then i realized that at this level you are only allowed to play up to normal difficulty. So I decided to do the Halloween related achievements and unlock the Commando Chicken. For the Bedlam map achievement is hard difficulty required and to be able to join a hard game the minimum perk level 2.

So I join an empty server as level 2 and wait with finishing the first round until some other players join the server. The first trader is the one near the spawn, upstairs at the dark confined corridor with some red light. So I politely suggest to use the usual camping place left at the spawn. As an answer I just get an

Hey there Rosco, good game last night. Even though some other squad mates were still alive you didn't get the achievement for beating Frightyard on Hell?

I guess this isn't quite a "fail" in the same vein as the rest of the thread but about a year ago I attempted Farm over and over again on Hell in hopes of unlocking what was then my final map achievement. I beat the map three times without getting an unlock before I realized that [at the time] the TT's server I was on was running a grenade proximity mutator, which was certainly not whitelisted. The frustration of repeated wins [not even counting the time spent on losses] to no avail made me despise Farm, and I still avoid it to this day.

TT's servers are again usable for achievements.

What? Do you mean that some servers had a level filter on them? Or was something added to the game when I wasn't looking?

A lot of servers use that noobfilter mutator. Controls those "one-hit-wonder" noobs that crop up in HoE and suicidal that spawn, get money, die, waste money and doom team(in th'm pubs), and ragequit almost immediately and likely quit the game entirely as they are too scrub to realize some games aren't pick up and be immediately "ultimate badass" of the game.

Sometimes I'm that teammate...

Was playing 6 man HoE on Offices. They didn't have a sharp so I went sharp. I though since they had a demo so he'd take care of the FPs (had a m32 and pipes at least) and I'd be on siren/husk duty (zerker to take care of the SC), then after a FP pushing into camp a couple of times I ask if I'm suppose to take care of them. I am. Oh well, I'm too scrub to take out the FPs with the bow with that little room (camping the first floor hallway). Next round I switch to the m14, only to forget the laser sight doesn't work in Linux and I hadn't reboot to Windows (and I always used the laser sight to m14 FPs before). I thought about iron sighting the FP but thought that the iron sights would get in the way too much. So on the uneven ground, I tried to hip fire the m14 without the laser sight for the first time in game. Safe to say I wasn't that much use that game. Yeah, a useless sharp.

*puts on the scrub hat and sits in the corner*

PS, went to the testmap and tried iron sighting the m14 to kill FPs, got it down in like 2 tries(not 10 shots but I killed them reliably) . *insert a long list of your favorite swear words here*

Less scrub than me, I suck so bad with the M14 I usually don't use it. I however am a headshot monster with the LAR and SPMusket, hipfire headshots for days. This game has turned me into a hipfire monster. Game without crosshair? No prob-blamo.

I'm so used to no crosshairs, I'm literally like that in every game, to the point my friends get all wide-eyed when I come over and play games with them. "Alright l- dafuq is this? a CROSSHAIR?! PFFFFFFFT GET DAT SHIIET OUTTA HERE" -gets kills like no tomorrow-

I'm that guy. Last night while playing with my level 2 friend in HoE I accidentally hit a long forgotten suicide bind. On wave 1. With my knife out. On West London. My friend managed to kill 10 Zeds before backing into a group of clots, where he was promptly disemboweled.

No, didn't activate.. but it's okay because I got it today. Played alone till wave 5 when some people started joining. Good team. 3 were camping on top of the containers, and the rest of us kited. Worked well. Now all I need is KFO-Frightyard HoE. Gonna be tough
