When you aim with 2 eyes in real life - you have two pictures of aimed object, one with iron sight "overlay" and second - without.
This gives you ability to see enemies, which are hidden by your weapon.
We don't have stereo vision as a standart yet, so I came with question/suggestion:
What if ROHOS will implement some level of transparency of main weapon?
This will simulate second eye and gives you ability to see through a weapon.
Discuss.

I must say, i utterly hate this idea. First of all it just looks weird to have a transparent weapon and second, soldiers where trained to only use there dominant eye in aiming.

It is easier to aim using only 1 eye (second eye is closed),
thats why you train to use only 1 eye from beggining.
But it is adviced to use both eyes in the future to extend your field of view and to be able to track targets, which become obstructed by iron sight.
If you can describe why it looks weird we can cancel that suggestion.
In real life - this is exactly whats happening - objects near your face appears transparent. Is it weird in real life? Don't think so.

Really the best way to implement this would be to use one of those 3D glasses systems, like NVidia has.

You can physically offset the left eye so it's not behind the gun, while the right eye is behind the iron-sights.

It would be a perfect "simulation" of what really happens.

Plus, 3D!

Only problem, is if you're left eye dominant, you're screwed (just like the real soldier's were).

Soldier only aim with both eyes open when using special ACOG scopes and red dot sights.

They didn't exist in the 40's....

Seriously, some people here seem to forget that it's a game.
Name some feature ideas that make sense and are acceptable for the gamer community, not every single feature which could possibly ever happen in real life, so this game would become a 500 GB sized simulation

The way they created the aiming system is perfect, no need to change that.

I would love it for basically 3d monitors. So a player has to decide for himself to close his left eye or keep both eyes open.

For 2d monitors I would rather not have it as having a transparent weapon just feels a bit odd and would take me out of my immersion.

Guess what I am.

And even if I would be right eyed, I'd find this idea horrendously retarded.

I could see this causing eye fatigue. If you're playing on a 3D monitor, holding breath should automatically "close" one eye so you get the right eye view on both eyes, dropping you to a realistic 2D also.

No.

I don't ever want to be forced to use 3D glasses.
Hell, I don't even like 3d tech! It always gives me headaches and I don't even think it looks that good.
