Picture as a whole?
Tanks in RO2 are more realistic than tanks in RO1. It's simple. Sure, RO2 has unrealistic quirks like the instant repair-boxes and aimbotting gunners, but they're far less annoying than BA-64 not getting penetrated by a Tiger because it's at magical angle.
Gameplay in RO2 will probably be better as well, after the aimbot is gone. There is MORE room for teamplay, despite the AI, because now commander can focus on commanding and doesn't have to shoot - except in T34, where he had to do it in real life too.
And am I insulting the RO2 community or the "everything was better in RO1"-'community' you guys seem to have going on here? Nothing drives away players from this game as effectively as the RO:OST-people on these forums. If you manage to kill this game, we're left with COD152435 and Battlefield 45 in the future. Is that how you want it?
Let me just say that what I read in your post is your opinion.
Mechanics of the tanks are more realistic. Angling provide advantage, but shouldn't be as drastic as in RO1. When you say 'gameplay in RO2 will probably be better as well..', that's another hypothetical, which fails to convince anyone.
And I'm not just confining it to the tanks either when I talk about the overall game. Besides, there only few servers that are consistently populated and that server disables the tanks.
Like it or not, RO2 community is an amalgam of people who are unahppy and who are happy.
You said yourself that you didn't like RO1, so you didn't play it. It's the same thing happening except the people who liked RO1 didn't like RO2 so they're stopping. Now that you have a game that you like you're fighting teeth and nail to retain it. Well guess what? RO1 faithfuls are doing the same to get back what they believe they lost.
You can't pin the playerbase dropping from 2700 to mere 300 in 3 months entirely on what goes on in the boards.
You starting flamewars doesn't help the condition of the boards any either.
If RO dies (which it already looks like it is), and CoD and BF are the only games left, I would just move on. I'd rather not play a game that I can't enjoy or force myself to enjoy. People do have other hobbies than gaming.
