I've just about had it with folks who don't do their job per their perk.

Trying to be a zerker just because they have a Katana, or not keeping the small stuff away from a zerker while he/she is tanking a Scrake drives me up the damn wall.

I have ran into this situation countless times.

I'm Commando, one Zerker in the front, a medic here a support/sharpshooter there. Everyone killing shooting, doing just fine in the first waves. Waves 4 and above, Zerker starts to get more in his face, but is able to deal with them, a few more gored fast and clots, no problem, but sharpshooter starts concentrating on the stuff in front of the Zerker, same as the Support Specialist. More crawlers/sirens/bloats slip by because people keep trying to kill the things in front of the zerker. A Scrake enters, Zerker is dealing with scrake, then a all of the sudden everyone concentrates fire on the scrake, totally disregarding the crawlers and sirens that are getting too close/or everyone who has a katana tries to kill the scrake also leading to crawlers and other trash slip by. Leaving me (the Commando) the only person who is actually doing what they are supposed to do, keep the trash in check. The medic is doing an ok job of healing the zerker, but starts using the damn katana more often than actually healing. We slip by wave 6, zerker is almost dead but is alive. Wave 7, almost everyone ignores their role on the field and tries to kill everything instead of making strategic choices when firing their weapon, support wasting shells on single clots, sharpshooter doing the same wasting bolts on single clots. More scrakes come in, again everyone tries to kill the scrake instead of keeping the trash off of the zerker. Before first FP comes, zerker dies, everyone else is low on ammo and nades because they wasted them on the scrakes, then everyone gets killed by the first damn FP that shows up, usually leaving me as the last one then I get killed. Then everyone complains that their zerker sucks because he died early and say that I suck because I couldn't hold kill the 75 or so specimens off by myself/ or if i do, we all wipe wave 8 because of the same damn tactics that they used wave 7.:mad::mad::mad:

I cannot stress this enough, please play the role of the perk you choose.

People look at the kill count too much and try to be on the top versus trying to make through the waves.

Completing a map is way better than trying to level up then wiping out.

Yes things generally tend to go downhill if your only zerker dies on suicidal. That's why its best to have a dedicated medic with a shotgun or xbow to heal him and protect him from crawlers silens etc.

Sharpshooters die because they get charged by fleshies which should have been killed by the support but he's concentrating on the crawlers and stalkers because the commando is surrounded by zeds that the firebug could have taken care of if he wasn't already dead because the medic isn't doing his job.

It happens too everyone regardless of perk.

You lack subtlety! You can't just say how you feel! That makes me feel angry!

Anyway, play with good teams and this doesn't happen. It really sounds like you were in a newbie game, as those are ALL common newbie mistakes. Especially the weapon usage. Really, anything but the 9mm is just wasted on clots. An $8 shotgun shell to kill a $3 clot is a loss for the firer. They'll look up to me, begging for money. And I'll whisper..."No."

Generally, if I see the stuff you're describing happening in a server, I tell them about what they're doing and why it's wrong. If they don't listen, I switch servers. No use banging your head on a wall with a team that's useless and doesn't wanna learn...

Yea guess your right, I tend to stay though to help SHOW people the way to victory, even if it means going mental because I know that I'm not the only one out there that feels at least some what the same as I. Just trying my part in spreading the knowledge to help other people who end up jumping into a random room.

Just getting tired of having to jump rooms left and right just to get a good game in.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is if people see a Zerker doing his job, let him, DON'T make your Katana a primary weapon if you have one. And if a Zerker tosses you a Katana or a Chainsaw during trader time, SELL IT to get the proper weapons, its easier for him to give you a weapon that is worth 750 than give you 750

Nice of you to announce in the thread name that its a rant so everyone's aware of that =)
But as you might know nothing is going to get better if you write it here on the foras, since probably everyone here is playing pretty serious (or at least not letting the team down).

If you want tips. Play on servers and add people who plays the way you like and ask them to play with you more. And as said even better is to join a KF clan, which as said aswell is pretty rare. Last but least (also already said) play on suicidal and/or FF. Which forces the team to cooperate more than usual. =]

Sounds like your part of the problem. One commando should be more than enough to keep anything away from a zerker when hes tryng to tank a Scrake, atleast in my experience, so. What were you doing when the Zerker was getting his arse handed to him as the stalkers, crawlers, and gorefest were ganking him?

I'm doing my part, shooting all the damn crawlers and sirens and bloats. And one commando is not enough when you have 4 other idiots not helping, on suicidal.

I usually play as medic and healing has always been my top priority, since i play on hard as my default difficulty setting. I've seen lots of medics that didn't have the mp7 or dealt out damage when half of team was under 70 hp.

Keeping your teammates on 100 percent hitpoints should be the top priority for everyone playing as medic. The second top priority for a medic is shooting on gorefasts/crawlers/stalkers that are rushing towards an injured teammate.
I usually save my ammo for that, until i have enough to buy me a m79 or an shotgun as a backup weapon.

The last few successful games on hard that i've played ended with me beeing usually on the last place for kills, but who cares aslong as the team survives.
