It is very dull in comparison to RO2.... A kill in RO2 is worth 100 in bf3. It's pretty much BC2 with slightly better textures, though it's hardly a massive jump at all.

From already sinking in 20+ hours into RO2, I can safely say that it offers a muuchhhh better gaming experience.

That is all.

Isnt there only one map on the beta ?

You wouldn't judge RO2 just by playing apartments, would you ?

Didn't stop mountains of whiners demanding refunds during the RO2 beta.

We only had 3 maps, and people were more than happy to type up 1500 word rants about how much the game sucked and how they were getting their money back.

Yes, yes I would. you can get pretty much a good feel for a game/shooting mechanics/gameplay/visuals from playing a game for 5+ hours, regardless of the map.

Unfortunately, I am truly fed up with games like battlefield, call of duty, or any other mainstream game. Because the only thing they offer is fast paced action with forgiving gameplay. I am not saying that those games are bad games - but they're simply not for me, and I cannot really compare a game like RO to battlefield because they're so diffrent. I bet most regular players find RO away to hard to play and the learning curve is quite high. That's one of the reasons why games like RO and arma never really get as big as battlefield or COD. They have to be aimed at twelve years old aswell, and people that doesn't want to use pure skill and/or patience to play. But both all great games, aimed for diffrent audiences.

really? because the map you get doesnt even have vehicles in it lol.

BF3 is ok theres no doubt that RO2 has 100x more potential to be better then BF3. but its just that, potential.

i enjoyed BC2
and I am enjoying BF3 beta (despite some bugs)

I'll break it down as my friend worded it today

"RO2 is for amazing teamplay
BF3 is for excellent squadplay
and MW3 will be for individual play"

Nothing is wrong with like more than one of them
just dont try and do individual play in BF3 or RO2

and good luck finding a team to play with in CoD

So RO2 is all about pure skill and then BF is all about..what ?

Auto-aim ?

Yeah cool let's all circle-jerk over how much BF3 sucks in comparison to RO2. Good lord, I though you guys were supposed to be a more mature community.

What in the world gave you that preposterous notion? Aren't you familiar with GIFT?

RO and the original CoD are actually not all that different, particularly with the United Offensive expansion. Having played that really helped me adjust to RO2 very quickly, as I've never played it before. The new CoD's, however... eh.

i loved bf1942 AND bf2 and still to this day play some mods for it. (project reality, forgotten hope just to name 2) and it saddens me to see what theyve turned it into. and i agree about the kills in this game compared to bf3, its much more satisfying in ro2.

i disagree here, i played a lot of cod 1 in cal n such. but in cod you could still jump 180 headshot a guy over boxes with ease. but i agree about the new cod's though they mostly suck IMO. (i still do own cod 4 and mw2 :p)

I will say that, after playing the BF3 beta on max, sometimes I almost thought, even on epic's crustible engine, RO2 actually looked better

bf3 beta was fairly solid gameplay wise, but that horrid web-browser battlelog nonsense will be a nasty stain upon its release

after playing i was thinking, this is cool, but the sense of danger/preciousness of life that i've been feeling from playing RO2 lately is nowhere to be found here

BF3 should not be compared to RO2 in any aspect. By the way, the graphics options are broken in bf3.

i think they're both enjoyable... but in very different ways

Unfortunately the unlocks in BF3 (particularly optics for damn well everything) homogonize the game experience more than BC2.. where optics would have to be sacrificed for perks such as running faster/extra ammo

now the optics have their own slot and there is pretty much no reason not to use them.
They're like training wheels you get after first learning the hard way :p
