Alright all, so I did a bit of experimentation. This is with my mac, and may not work for others, but.
For the lag, I have found that it is caused by the anisoptric filtering and motion blur, disable these and you will find the lag gone (try disabling trilinear filtering if it's not disabled by default)
For the bug where you find your mouse not working. This is caused (at least for me, by the tapping of TWO fingers on the front of the magic mouse (typically where you click to aim and shoot). It thinks you want to view all available windows that KF has up, hence you get the black pointer and no control. If you use a software to enhance your magic mouse or whatnot, (like better touch tool) this is what's causing it. Disable the program and you disable the bug.
