I know that the game tryes to make it more realistic by removing player markers and things like that but really make it more like tactical shooters like rainbow 6 vegas it would be a lot more fun that way.

Oh if only you'd said RS3:Raven Shield instead of Vegas... :p

With the scale of RO, having 32 markers on the screen at a time is impractical and annoying (much like servers that run the name-tags this way...), and removes from the tense nature of using your two peepers to ID who is who on the battlefield.

Now, in terms of number / types of orders, being able to be a little more specific about attacking orders or just general movement orders (Flank left!) would be a nice thing to add indeed.

I don't like a sea of nametags either, but I would like to have control over when I see them. For example, assign a key to display those under 20m from you when you need to know who is about to walk around that corner into an MG. I hate not being able to warn people of danger, especially when I've just laid a satchel.

Related, make it easier to see who's talking. "*^@&!! Bad Nade!" What? Who said tha...boom!

Make it easier to identify squadmates.

Understanding orders is not very intuitive, it could be better. "Move here!" huh? Where? You have to then check the map and figure out where they want you to go, why can't a marker light up in game? I assume it's supposed to imitate 3D VOIP where an officer might say "Move to that building across from the church". It's far from that.

I dont think the order system can be any more intuitive considering the limitations of a keyboard and mouse which are practically 0

Not only do we not need it, it would have a deleterious effect on unit cohesion. I wouldn't mind having such a feature, but I would NOT use it to issue orders, since by definition most of the team would never get the orders.

Improving the order mechanics doesn't mean hobbling a team leader it by requiring people to be sitting next to the TL for them to hear the order.

I think he means that you still have Team & Squad chat, just 3DVoip in addition. Which is always a great combo IME. It has the biggest effect on coordinated gameplay that I've seen. Teammates work together as ad hoc squads even on pub servers.

Yeah that's exactly what I meant. It would allow a bit more cohesion between the team. But I do agree it would be nice for your SL to give orders on the map like in Project Reality. This way he wouldn't have to expose himself

Bigger maps, maybe medical system like in Arma and 3d VOIP could help in teamplay alot. Oh ****, I'm turning this game into Arma..

Wake up! RO2 last two years = Call of Duty 2 Hard Mode.
Team play is dead. Veterans use teamspeak. Noobs - run and die.
Killed all the noobs - won.

This realism.

As someone who is on teamspeak every time I play, I must say that even with tons of people on the channel, all game comms are done pretty much with the in-game voip. TS chatter is usually not specifically related to the in-game action. After all, we don't usually separate to different channels for Axis/Allies, although the different channels exist, and we're not all on the same side.

Mostly we use it during map loads to talk about which side we're taking on the next map and so forth.

But maybe that's just us.

Nah, I think that's typical. Unless you're playing campaign, it's too much of a pain to switch channels each round to keep coms clean. IME, most TS chat is BS with your buddies or info to admins about griefers. Besides, most ingame talk should be heard by the rest of your team, regardless of if they are noobs without mics.

Team play is dead. Veterans use teamspeak.

If you're that hardcore that you won't communicate with someone outside of your clan or on TS, you're doing it wrong. Pub matches are just for fun.
