I held off buying the game due to friend's opinions of the game. Let me tell you, I was wrong for listening to them.

I played the original RO mod while it was in beta and also when it went retail. I was a fan of the game due to it's realism focus and the open maps.

While RO2 isn't operating on the scale RO1 did, the core gameplay is fan-fing-tastic.

Let me point out some things I've noticed that I personally love about it and also some things I was hoping to find but are not here (yet)

- Excellent gun play. When you fire at someone and hit them, it feels like you just shot someone. (not that I would know)

- Rewards teamwork. My first game I met some awesome guys who I played with. Working with them made the game waaay better.

- Excellent physics!

Now some things I hope make it to RO2.

- Larger, open maps. I loved RO because some of the maps were open with sporadic buildings for those long range fire fights.

- Tanks :)

- Tracers from MG fire

Anyways I love the game and can't wait to get off of work to play more!
If anyone would like to play together my steam name is WankthePirate (don't ask)

Larger, open Maps - Had some really nice games today on Ogledow, was a great feeling shooting enemies at <300m

Tanks - ?

Oh well I was not aware there was tank gameplay in RO2.. RO1 had it and I really enjoyed it.

Also, I will have to take a look at this Ogledow map. Thanks!

A man posts his positive opinions about a game and someone dislikes the post. I just can't understand some people on this forum.
they just don't understand how the voting thing works.:(

p.s. to the op. glad you're enjoying the game. now go back and ask those guys that told you not to get it, what their problem is.

Don't be overly concerned about map scale right now. This will change as the modders get energetic. I don't think map size is in any way restricted
beyond what was possible in RO1. I imagine the initial maps were smaller for reasons of expediency. We'll see what develops.
