LOL - unironic KT worship!!!

How refreshing.

Throw us more stats, please, and don't forget to add the obligatory [drewl] [/drewl] tags.

Something like this...

[drewl]It is a well known fact on the internetz that Obersturmbannhauptfuhrerer 1st Class Adolf von und zu Knackelgruber of the Leet s.SS.Pz.Abt 666 managed to destroy the entire Soviet army in this and 3 parallel realities.

It happened on one day in late Octember 1945 when his King Tiger (which art in heaven) got involved in a firefight from its vantage point in a ditch in the road where it was abandoned after its transmission failed.

After running out of ammo he was able to take out 5 more Shock Armies and Guards Tank Armies simply by giving them a hard stare from the cupola of his mighty, mechanical example of teutonic resource mis-management[/drewl]

..and that is FCAT!!!

p.s. the KT poster on your bedroom wall prolly needs changing... that one looks a bit 'soiled'. ;)

...and that Swedish one that looks like a door-wedge with a gun. :)
S-Tank, IIRC. Didn't even have elevation/depression controls on the gun, it relied on the gunner directly controlling the suspension. Damn silly idea. But not a problem, as the Swedish nation hasn't been involved in a Real Man's War since tanks were invented. By the British, obviously.

stridvagn 103 - didn't some have a dozer blade on the front allowing them to did themselves in?
interesting defensive tank concept but lets not forget that the 105mm varient of the famous L7 gun, whilst excellent, is nevertheless still 17 less than the IS2

S-Tank isnt that bad that you could think. First the tank itself is just few
centimeters higher than the point where the gun is attached. So that if
its in the "foxhole" you can see just a little bit of it and even then its
allmost impossible to get a hit on to it so that it wouldnt bouce away.

Also it got a lot of brand new things like turbine engine, which came 15 years
later to soviet tanks and 20 years later to US tanks.

Autoloader, which made it possible to operate by 2 man crew. Commander
and Gunner/Driver. As they both had the same set of sights and controls to fire the gun and drive the tank.

But thats not the all it got also 3 person which was rear driver. He got
his view to back and was able to drive tank backwards as fast as it could
move foward.

Oki anyways you are still quite suspicious about suspension controlled
tank. How anybody could shoot accuratly with that.

"Norway carried out a two week comparative observation test with the Leopard 1 and found that with closed hatches the 103 spotted more targets and fired faster than the Leopard."

In April to September 1968, two 103s were tested at the British armour school in Bovington, which reported that "the turretless concept of the "S"-tank holds considerable advantage over turreted tanks"

In BAOR 1973, the 103 was tested against the Chieftain. Availability never fell under 90% and the final report stated, "It has not been possible to prove any disadvantage in the "S" inability to fire on the move."

In 1975, two 103s were tested at the American armour center at Fort Knox. The trial demonstrated the 103 fired more accurately than the M60A1E3, but on an average 0.5 seconds slower.

well maybe that is compensated by the decreased weight? Im sure you can design a tank for to cope with it, especially a turretless one.

Clearly a "Stridsvagn Greatest Tank of World" thread is in order ;)

No i wouldnt say S-Tank as the greatest because, i havent heard that it
had splited any king tigers apart frontally from 5 kilometer. Only
laser chainsaw axe throwed by mighty commander of IS2 can do that.

No, 105 is less than 122.
Yap...Its so simple like if there is snowboard competition and
other gets 105 points + 1 (compassion point) and the other gets clearly 9000 points
then the king tiger wouldnt even jump to downhill, because even on its best
it can only gets miserable 88 points and no compassion points, because its so fat.
