What happens if you are killed in the tank? Do you take control of one of the AI crew members?

So with the 3 tanks and 3 commanders scenario, they all decide to lock their tanks. That will be the end of anyone else who thought they might like to play in a tank then?

Seems a bit broken to me

Why? ROOST already has limits for most of its roles except for perhaps rifleman. How would this be any different than say limiting the number of snipers or squad leaders?

Because a tank has 3 human controllable slots. So in the 3 tank scenario if the three commanders choose to lock their tanks, the other 6 crewmen can't play as tankers.

That's not a gameplay balancing thing ( like restricted classes ), it's simply a player/players choosing not to share and causing others to lose out :(

Ramm has mentioned in a couple of interviews, each tank will have a maximum of 3 players running it. So 1 player will pull double duty as commander and gunner in the Panzer IV, like in ROOST.

The T-34/76 didn't have a separate gunner and commander.

3 and 1 AI loader, either way one player can dictate whether or not the other 2 players ( or more ) per tank get a game.

Confirmation on this? Does that mean Panzer IV's wont be able to load up with four human players, even though there are four playable positions??

JG: The AI Crew doesn’t count toward the playercount. On combined arms maps, the infantry are good for fighting in the buildings and the tanks are good in the open areas. So for the players it will be a decision of where they want to allocate their human players. For example, let’s say you are playing with 64 players and there are ten tanks. You could have 1 human player in each tank with a full AI Crew and then have 54 infantry players. Or you could have 30 human players in tanks (3 human players filling the playable positions in each tank) and then only have 24 infantry players. Or you could do something in between.
From here.

Thats bull:IS2:, one of the main advantages of the Panzer was the separate command and gunner, now it has no major advantage over the T34....

Sounds almost as boring as being the loader...

So you want to keep moving around the tank during a battle?

Look its only for the Panzer IV's, the commander can be separate in that tank, and that is one of the main advantages over the T34, theres many times in RO where I wished there was a commander to spot for me instead of having to keep switching.

If you think its not exciting being a commander, then what about being a driver? Or even an hull gunner? How about infantry roles lie the platoon leader? I geuss it won't be fun because you'll be staying back and observing most of the time. No one role is going to give the ultimate gratification....

Really? Don't forget some folks on these forums want to play loader

That said, I'd like the option of having a dedicated commander. Presumably, they could point out targets and waypoints using the command/pointing system we saw with squad leaders. Having another set of eyes on the battle field can really help with situational awareness. Some of the best tank battles I've had have involved having infantry spot for me so I could concentrate on gunning. Same kind of dynamic with a dedicated commander.
