How about changing it so that players are seen in alphebetical order of their names?

In mod everyone is in the order of the amount of money and it seems like some people only collect money ,(trying to be on top in the scoreboard)... without killing much and just collecting weapons and selling em.

Or is it only me who feels like that?

I hope it sorts by damage done to enemy specimen :F

Then ever1 would behunting zombies to be on top... but there's need to weld and heal and other stuff too.

For example, i wouldn't bother healing anyone if i'd know i gotta kill more to be on top. Actually.. i would be happy for the other dude to die so i could get more points. KF shouldn't be about cometition.

In my opinion, there's no need for scoreboard actually.
There could be just extended game information menu (Like in mod when pressing ESC).. or something like that.

I would concur that the scoreboard should be done away with in favor of an information menu where players remain static, based on order of connection to the server or whatever.

A major function of the game is the necessity to share resources evenly among your team in order to effectively combat the enemies. If your cash reserves are the determinant factor on whether or not you are "good", then people will just horde their money, handicapping the team in order to claim "victory" over the others.

If people are dead set on a ranking system, then perhaps assigning a point value to every aspect of the game would work, though time constraints might not allow for this.

For example, you get points for each specimen you dispose of, each point of welding you do to a door, each time you heal someone, each time you share cash with another player, etc.

Complicated though...

There's a modification for HL2 called Resistance and Liberation. It's a WW2 modification that doesn't have any form of score system. It's a realism based game. The focus is on teamwork and defeating the enemy by capturing all the locations, rather than sitting and camping. It helps to stop people from being lame and farming points to be at the top. It makes it a much more fun, and relaxed environment.

if there were a point-based system I dont think it should be based on only one thing; enemies killed, money, etc.

It should be based on all the tactical things put together, and I don't believe it would be that complicated to come up with.

Another thing would no be scoring system at all, that would improve teamwork and working towards the objective - not being gnawed to death by specimens.

ps. Resistance and liberation is awesome.

Having the scoreboard with players in the order of the amount of money is actually pretty useful: you can see at first glance who has more money and ask him/her to lend some cash. :D

They should redesign the scoreboard to look more like the haunted's. It's more fitting for less players.
And just order them by when they joined or alphabetically.
