keep up the good work Ramm
;)

Sure, it's harsh - the way a deterrent should be - but then I don't care about hackers' feelings in the slightest.

lol dont get me started ..
back in cod2 just before cod4
i went nuts and posted a rant on punksbusted
its still there search for "hellbilly"

note that was my last post over there .. pb needs to step it up

I enjoyed reading that link, HellBilly. I noted in a reply the hacks make your "blood boil" - I kinda LOLed as that is the exact phrase I used to describe my reaction on seeing the RO2 hack video on YouTube.

Theres an interesting link in the comments to the **************** forums, I just cant view the contents of the link

Do you mean in the comments on the YouTube page? One of those dbags was reading this thread and posted it in there (and named me in it, because I called him a hacker).

So the bad news is, he (and some of the others, I suppose) are apparently a part of this community... The good news is, it appears that action has already been taken.

Don't just kick hackers! Disable their input, create annoying audio files that play when they're caught, VAC ban them from any steam-servers game!

I'm really happy to see the Dev's trying to do something against those lamers, nowadays there isn't many game companies who cares about this cheating plague sadly, hopefully you guys will find solutions to stop this and continue fight against this plague that is the cheating in online games.
Keep up the good work guys, catch and perma ban all those lamers ( i like Princeps's idea too :) ) .

You might find a bigger audience purely on the bases of being proactive against cheaters, since there's really no other dev that gives a crap seemingly.

We were in the same server. It made me ragequit and come here looking for blood lol

You shouldn't have quit. :)
We made him run away, he couldn't stand us calmely making fun of him:p.
The poor guy clearly expected us to rage (which is the cheater's source of enjoyement), which we didn't.
We just took his cheat as a challenge, we killed him a few times and laughed at him.

Speaking of proactive devs:

RO2 SpeedHack Fail - YouTube

This is a video of me testing out a speedhack against today's update. I uploaded it at 640 res, so I think it's still processing, but you get the idea. I speedhack, the server kick/bans me ;)

Yeah.
I'm gonna have to report you, sorry.

To add a few facts re some partially incorrect or potentially misleading information:

1. PunkBuster does not support Betas whatsoever. It never did and never will. Thus:

2. No streaming support for Beta servers form our (PBBans.com) side.

We are running servers to actively test pb integration and are researching for TWi's to-do list.
Rest assured TWi devs will address all open issues with the appropriate priority.

For now we recommend to run Beta servers with PunkBuster disabled, although that is rather down to clients being unable to enable ... pb (beta) will nevertheless run seamlessly, if the client enables it; it is quite simple, use
Steam\steamapps\common\redorchestra2beta\ Binaries\Windows\pbsvc_hos.exe
once, create a file named pbclgame.cfg in
Steam\steamapps\common\redorchestra2beta\ Binaries\Win32\pb\pbclgame.cfg
Code:
// pbclgame.cfg
cl_punkbuster 1
pb_logtofile 1 // optional but recommended*
and you are done once and forever. More info on PunkBuster Client *Logging: click my signature.

3. PBBans bans PunkBuster GUIDs (will, once the game is fully operational for streaming), effectively the steam ID for this game from all streaming servers; this based on streamed evidence solely, see: our ToS. I.e.: ingame demos recorded on streaming servers are banable evidence, videos whatsoever are no valid proof. Neither are PBSS or other proof taken on servers that are not actively streaming. Our (evidence-) submission system is accessible for admins streaming a server. A rough impression why we run high standards can be found here, for more information click my signature.

4. The cheat submission is in place for submitting cheats (hacks), no cheaters, cheaters won't fit into our mail slot :p (cheat accusations are ignored) So: mainly URL, so you will not have to post it.
Posting cheat sites, links, cheat names etc. in public forums is advertising cheats. This fact is taken from experience. Refrain from doing it, tomorrow nobody incl. Google will give a damn 'how you meant it'. Thus we will edit and lock every http://OMGhax.com/ post/topic on our forums, this is a recommended part of a zero-tolerance anti-cheat policy. We will not purchase cheats.

Cheat submissions to PunkBuster: research@evenbalance.com (PBBans is not PunkBuster.)
Flooding this MailBox with "reports" (i.e.: stories), cheat accusations, demos, pbss, whine!, gossip ... is counterproductive. PunkBuster is a reactive software. They have the hack (a file/binary) == it is detected. Go figure.

As a final remark: Nothing surprising really, it will be a popular game, won't it; afterall: all i hear yet is tilting at windmills. Wait for the release and we will see :>

^^^ thats why im here
thanks tripwire !!!

also dont trust a server just cause it says PB make sure its streaming to PBbans ... thats the best
PB with pbbans is twice as effective .. the numbers dont lie
pb= 228,018
pb with PBBANS = 473,984

make sure you play on a server thats streaming
go here and hit "streaming list" in red for your game
http://www.pbbans.com/master-stream-index.html

note: streaming servers may not be up till final release

Im so confused. In another thread youre throwing a huge hissy fit about not having enough FF maps aka CoD gameplay. Totally immature/drama queen, and now in this thread you represent PPBANS? I am so confused.

Just had a guy on the server we were playing on, it was a Finish server, player named [TW]Ramm-Jaeger (no way was it the real ramm), was definitely wall hacking and using an aim bot of sort, hip firing his machine gun from the other side of the map and killing people easily.

Sounds like Ramm.

Another important "line of defense" or tool against cheating is fully functional demo recording.

Fully functional demo recording will allow players to record evidence when Admins are not on the server. It will be important for demos to accurately record everything, including weapon, first-person view etc. If possible a cross-hair in spectator and demo playback only, this will allow detection and review much easier. The ability for players, not just Admins, to lookup SteamIDs in console would be needed for demos to be useful, having SteamIDs included in the demo data and a command to retrieve them like Source engine demos would be very useful. That said, PB Streaming enabled servers will have PB GUIDs streamed. But it will still be important to have SteamID lookup in console built-in as there could be many servers not utilising either PB + Streaming or no PB at all, due to peoples frustration with PB and ignorance of Streaming.

Another thing you should consider is have VAC bans for cheating in RO1 carry over to RO2 (possibly even KF too) and visa versa on the Steam account that is used for cheating if that isn't how it works now, as an extra deterrent. As I'm sure you're aware Valve do this for CS:S, TF2, DoD:S, HL2M and other game combinations.
