I've been playing this game for a while and overall i love it.

I've got a lot of things to whine about. Like bouncing tanks which makes aiming nightmare. Cover shouldn't be bound to the interact key - there should be a different key for it etc...

However I have a one small suggestion. Please give the ability to abort reloading. It doesn't make sense that you keep feeding bullets into your rifle while enemy pops up just in front of you. Just end the reloading animation when player presses fire or reload key.

Yes, player might end up with an empty gun but then he could swap to his sidearm and face the threat.

But thanks for the game and I'm sure you'll iron out the bugs and make the game a lot better. :)

This is frustrating to no end especially as a rifleman reloading mid-clip.

I have found, though, that a reload CAN be interrupted IF you sprint or maybe do some other types of movements that normally would stop you from firing. Of course, I'm not saying this is a good solution, you'd still have to take a step or two forward for it to work but it may save you the second that you need.

Right now only way you can abort it, is by sprinting mid-reload. But i do agree that you should be able to swing your damn gun if you choose to do so, even if it means you lose all the bullets in process.

I'd say aborting should be melee hit request, or sprint request.

If I hit melee mid-reload, it should stop the reload process. Even if all it does is try to shove the bullet I'm currently holding up the enemies nose, it would be better than standing there reloading my gun like an idiot as I get beat to death with the butt of some guy's gun.

At first I had ideas like this myself, but after reflecting upon why I just got a bayonet stuck through my eye while reloading, I realised that if I was able to cancel the reload and strike before my enemy then maybe this game would be more of a superhuman twitch shooter than it should be. I'm not saying a real life soldier would calmly continue reloading his weapon while being charged by a screaming enemy with a raised bayonet, but if this was a real life situation he would most likely be dead no matter what action he takes. Giving the player the ability to instantly take preventive measures to deal with a situation like this, reacting faster than any one person can move his body, you are basically handing out matrix style bullet dodging capabilities to what is supposed to be average urban assault troops.

These suggestions makes sense to a gamer but they really push the game towards a twitchy domain it is nich

aiming on tanks is just fine, ww2 tanks did not have stabilizers. finnish tankmen were able to take out multiple russian tanks because of the training differences.

Finns were trained to stop before shooting anything, russians were told to shoot on sight and then stop --> first one was a miss and then they just stood there as a "free hit"
