Obviously an intense amount of work goes into these seasonal themed updates (christmas, summer).
Despite the handful kind of crying I'd say the majority of people that would take the time to leave a message here are pretty happy to have something to mix it up a little and revitalize the player base (if only for the sake of novelty). But then the update goes away and all that work sits idle.
What if after the event these packs were available for purchase as an official mutator or something?
No, I don't want the Christmas update all the time. But, a fair amount of work was put into it and it would be fun to fire up every now and then. I'm sure the same will be true with this carnival update. But I think enough people would buy it just for the sake of having it that the creators could get some cash for their efforts. Seems win win.
That said, I really don't know what the technical implications would be. If it's more work than the update itself, it's probably not so feasible.
Anyway, cheers to the people still putting out content for a game long paid for. I think it's under-appreciated.
